One Year & Over Part 55
Thanks Mags, we share with a few others on this thread too!
How was your first day back?
I always go shopping when I visit my mum - she has loads of charity shops ( thrift stores?) in her town so I invariably pick up a bargain! Got a lovely jumper this time!
Taking the car to the garage today to get new side steps put on, then back here to start painting a new room.

Congrats to Toots, Wolfie, Kris & Dharma for another month sober!
Got some great news on my 2018 health insurance. Looks like I'll be going from paying $230 a month to just $6 a month! About time I got some good news on that front.
Have a Terrific Tuesday, overs!

That IS good news FBL.
I just saw an ad on TV. Beautiful women on a deserted island..all quiet..they look up and run into the beautiful ocean - with excitement on their faces. A man wades onto the beach..with beer. 'For that place you want to be'.

Mags, hope the back to work goes well.

Have a terrific or tolerable Tuesday, Overs.

Toots, painting? That’ll make a nice change! .
Work ok thanks though very wavy today, hard to concentrate, but only 4 hours so I managed. Just drinking through 2 pints of water ready for my scan!
Andy, I hope your bug goes quickly.
Fbl, wow, that’s a big saving on your health insurance. What a saving. Nice one!

Oh star.....my eyes just did something funny, and I read: you can start saving for your next cow.
Mind you, I love cows. But they don't get you from A to B that well: not enough horsepower.
OK....I'm going....

Things I bought on my shopping trip: for the females and maybe a few males who care:
A beautiful flowy black turtleneck mini dress thingy from Free People, brown suede ankle boots with a neat pattern from Nordstrom Rack, which I promptly wore in the rain (yes it rains ALOT in Seattle!) and now they're spotted but not too bad, but still, duh. A cozy soft gray pajama top, we both got one, two pairs of black leggings, two sort of 80s style yoga tops, bright blue yoga pants (!), and the coziest classic black Nike hoody from the Tulalip Outlets. (Jumper for you across the ponders)
Seattle is similar in weather but I find it much cozier and cooler than Vancouver, because we have a million glass condo towers and they still have much of the older buildings which is nicer. And Pike Place Market is so cool, I had the best seafood bisque of my life, by FAR. And saw a psychic!
Must get to work!

Ooooooo a psychic.
And you bought some seriously lovely stuff InPar....Nick is probably lucky we live so far apart because I would LOVE to go shopping with you.
Bet you rock that mini dress!
And now I want to see Seattle. Hmm....must see how far it is....OK then, I did that. Perhaps it won't be that soon....

Suze, I’m amazed how big USA is, little old England will fit into a small corner. I think your roads are a lot better than ours especially for those long drives....to Seattle or you could just jump on a plane!
Work was ok thanks Suze, I was waffy today though, not sure why, could be the computer screens.

Well, Australia is the 6th largest country, USA the 4th largest. So I am used to wider open spaces....the distances don't floor me, and Nick loves driving. (As do I for that matter). The amazing difference for me here is how BIG everything is....trees, stores, the sky...yes really....it all looks so big. And then of course there is the 300 odd million compared to 20/24 odd million in all of that space....so there are just so many people and so many houses....it's still so eye opening for me.
Suze, wow! So many people compared to Australia. We have 65 ish million in the UK, which compared to Australia is quite a lot for our size, like USA we have a lot of houses, everywhere, the councils are now trying to build on greenbelt land. Our countrysides will one day be a thing of the past. which is sad.
