Class of March 2016 part 58
1128- Stardate something Tuesday. With some regret- had the details of the last sec. for on of the meetings I run removed from the website. Waited 7 weeks..and staff agree. Interesting- a lady there- was telling me about home group politics. She is from a meeting that is in an affluent area. The he said, she said- and we do this.... stuff. I said all I care about is to make sure the meeting runs okay for all.
Then went to the State Museum- to check it out. I have a prelim. shift there tomorrow as a volunteer. I have decided NOT to go to my art-group just before it. Wet weather, paint and 'nice' clothes do not look good for meet/greet roles.
Amzing stuff history. I watch a lot of doco's. The exploits of Rameses the Great (II)pops up quite often. Over 1000 BC. There in our little - out of the way museum in unimportant Adelaide- is a pillar- carved in this Pharoh's lifetime. Commissioned for an Egyptian Noble woman. 2 things struck me- that this was a connection with someone mentioned in the old testament and how wrong it is that in the past- such treasures were looted from such places.
Good to suss. the place out. Hundreds of school kids- love it! Also very warm, so now know what sort of clothes to wear...because of my burns- I have to be careful to regulate my body temp- as quite a lot of me does not sweat.

Morning all!
Glad to hear things are getting back to normal, Purps.
Have fun volunteering, PJ. Sounds interesting.
Sam I've become something of a tea nut like you. 3-4 cups per day: green, Earl Gray, mint, chamomile, hibiscus, rose hip, etc. Still so warm here I ice a lot of it.
Not much new in my corner of the world, but staying sober on day 75. Have a good day; be sure to check in!

Morning friends. Sippin' startin' fluid gettin' ready for the day!
Hope you enjoy the volunteer work PJ. I've been thinking of doing something like that!
Purp don't forget to give the poison isle the ole Casey salute at the grocery. Seems like things are beginning to normalize in your world. So glad!
Congrats on 75 days Pelagic. Super accomplishment!
Have a great day everybody!

Coffee break!
Our morning radio show is on their annual cruise & they record an hour podcast each day from the ship so we can hear a little of how they're doing....their cruises include all the listeners who want to go, but I've never been....then they mentioned something about a drink package that has a 15 drink limit per day, and I thought That's it??? Yeah there's a reason I don't go! Lol

Morning! Late check in. Slept in a bit (the more I practice the better I get at it - lol) and then premade some breakfasts for the week ahead. Now contemplating a trip to the library. Looks like rain though and I left my umbrella at work. Blah. Maybe I can skip between the raindrops?!?
Checking in. Feeling dark. Lonely maybe. Like I'm surrounded by people all the time and yet I'm very much alone. Anyone ever feel like that? Makes sense? Probably not. Lol.
Back to work tomorrow, and if this is what I come up with when I have time on my hands, then that's a good thing. Busy sometimes sucks but it keeps my head and my mind occupied.
Quiet night on the horizon and an early bedtime.
Focusing on how good it feels to be sober. ❤️❤️

Yes Sam..it does make sense. I get those thoughts (der). The trick for me is not dwell on them- or nurture them. I obviously cannot unthink or unfeel something. So- activity helps. Distraction- be it a walk, a crappy movie- cooking or art .
Been there done that Sam! Busy is the way to be for me. If I'm idle very long I start feeling sorry for myself!!!
Right now I'm on the 3rd episode of BBT. Only 4 more tonight. I've had a TV dinner. Gonna' have ice cream and a fudgy brownie in a bit. Then I'll lay down and watch the rest of BBT and finish up at sleepy time with Everybody Loves Raymond!
