Made it through another day 1 - it wasn't terribly productive, but I'm happy to be heading into day 2.

I hope everyone had a good day!! See you all tomorrow

I was invited to a post group lunch thingy. It was okay. A bit clicky..but the experience of making myself socialise is worth the effort. All nice people. I was pulled aside by one person and given 'advice' on how to run meetings. Did not react, took it on board and thanked them for their words. Whatever floats their boat. I had greek flat bread 9baked) with olive oil/sweet bean dip and olive paste with a spice mix..it was light- but very yum. Got my decadent triple shot latte..asked for sweetener 3 times. Did not get it. Asked again- for 3. The guy had to have the last word- and pointed out he gave me 4. Whatever floats...

Just starting the day here too. First frost of the year on the ground this morning. I guess old man winter really is coming. Supposed to be 25 today though so he's in no hurry it seems.

Well off to find some startin' fluid

Tom Cruise is saving the world-AGAIN. The boy does action well- give him that, will I. 2338 Sunday. For some reason - the words of learning new stuff (skills,life,alone-ness) from the good, but cheesy Avatar movie come to mind..repetition, repetition.

Good morning/evening everyone.

Cool here as well, Sam. 3 Celsius but should be sunny once the usual fall fog burns off.

MITA you always get right back to sobriety, something I couldn't do. I know you'll work things out. I don't go to meetings for the same reasons you don't. I used the SMART handbook till I had it down. I read (always have) a lot of psychology stuff. CBT, theories of personality, etc. Blended with spirituality. The self is complicated, but it can be fathomed. And it can be reimagined. Sorta headed that way myself.

Lots to do today. Leaving town tomorrow. Have a nice and sober spring/fall (circle one) day everyone.

Morning Sam, Purps, PJ and Pelagic.

Looking forward to some startin fluid. It's always better sober and hangover free!!

Pelagic, typically when I relapse it's a hard fall and it takes a big physical toll. Yesterday was a total waste. Today I am not hungover but not 100% either. Dee has a point about my view of myself, which I need to address. Part of me still wants to believe I can be a respectable drinker. I spent some time yesterday on the SMART website and will continue to look at that stuff.

I get exhausted from the physical and mental aspects of all this. The damage I cause my body plus the mental dissonance and abuse i endure is just stupid. I need to move forward as a non-drinker - create a new set of expectations and behaviors.

I can do this. We can do this.

I agree, MITA. I got a little tired of "recovery efforts" a while back and finally just said "s*** or get off the pot!" (with apologies for the language). When thoughts of drinking creep in these days (and they do, usually several times a day) I just play the tape through and say "Is THAT what you want?!?" Nope. Been there, done that.

Day 87.

We all can do this.

Hi ClearlyHeaded. Glad you are back on track. Enjoy your new digs in Oct. 2017 - I'm sure they are awesome, too.

Hey all!! Checking in. Home from work and thinking about starting dinner. Lol.

MITA - day two is always better than day one. Sounds like you have some pretty great introspection happening. Love you. ❤️❤️

CH - so happy to see you!! The October class is lucky to have you. Stop by here anytime...once a Marcher always a Marcher ❤️❤️

Well Charlie is sitting at the door looking pathetically at her leash. I guess that's my queue. Be back later!!

I saw you in the Sept 2017 class - did not know you were in the Aug 2017 class too. Haha, that is awesome!! I have a hard enough time keeping up with the people in this class - I'm not sure I could handle more than one

It seems our exceedingly chatty class has quieted down a bit - some people moving to other classes, others taking a break and maybe some having a tough time at the moment and are waiting for the right time to come back.

Making it through today okay - listening to a few recovery related podcasts, as well as getting out and about for a little while. I have some more work travel this week, but no client or prospect entertainment - so that's good. I do have a wedding to go to on Saturday - I'll just not drink - I can use the designated driver excuse if I need one. I really don't think anyone there will care or even notice.

The following Tuesday I have a charity golf event - those are usually big booze fests, but I won't drink then either.

Hope everyone had a great day!!

Hey there BBG!!

Ran a meeting today with a few hassles and very chatty people with alcohol cooked logic thinking. 4 in all- all males Including advice on my burns and following me home- then funding me again later- or talking when obvious not appropriate by quoting british poets. No judgements or anything- but tiring.

I've met lots of well meaning souls who see me as a disabled guy, think I must be desperately unhappy and have all the answers for me PJ

I just smile and wave, maybe drool a little, and they move on...

Startin' fluid for me as well. Good morning/evening to all!

So glad you're back, ch!! I wondered how you were doing.

Heading out this morning and will probably have spotty Wi-Fi for 10 days or so. I wish you all a great and sober day. We can do this.

Me three!! Morning class!

PJ - people are tiring. Well meaning people are the worst kind. Lol. I really like Dee's suggestion. Drooling may just work. I may try it myself. Lol

Have a great day Purplrks!

Pelagic - check in when you can. And you're right - we CAN do this!

Dee - I'm with Purps. Amazed and inspired by your capacity to help others. Thank you for always being around.

MITA - love how you're thinking and planning ahead. Certainly helps to go into social situations with some thought as to how you can handle them. And we're always here if you need us - big class or small class

Well I better head out or I will be late. I see a Starbucks stop in my near future.

Happy Monday (okay that's a lie. Lol)
