That was me Izzy, dinner fixed, laundry in, science fair projects in process, Ball practice, diaramas & drinking was my reward for doing it all. Your doing great & glad you had some time to yourself!

I’ve gotten a lot done around her the past 2 weeks & think I’m am just going to have a slow, easy day....maybe go to the park along the river for a walk when it warms up a bit if it’s not raining to much.

My new exercise routine will be weights & cardio Free. My plan was to start this week but didn’t happen so will try to get moving this week.

It's good to hear from you UP

I've googled Murpheys soap, and I think I might try some on an old cabinet that my dad has asked me to recycle - I think I might try another renovation project.

How great to find an armoire, Mariah - sounds like it will be perfect for your spare room.

Hope everyone's ready for another week - it's coming ready or not!

That's a bit cryptic.

Most stuff can be changed but I guess if you don't want to talk about it, that's your right.

Another mass shooting here in the US today. 27 Innocent people just sitting in a church on Sunday morning. Honest to God I’d like to live somewhere I didn’t know what was going on in this world.

As soon as I posted that I thought well that’s worth drinking over.....just like that. I read some posts here on SR that reminded me why that wouldn’t be a good idea, had a nice wallow in a hot lavendar epson Salt/ bubble bath & drank my cherry soda.

Our thoughts are with the State of Texas & all the families & lives this has affected. Izzy I know this is your home state & praying for all

That is so sad.
Why can't people just live and let live?

Definitely not worth drinking over, Mariah. Some days I want to get so numb but that will not fix anything and probably will cause more problems.

Prayers for everybody affected by the events on TX.

Why not rejoin the weekender Up - might do you good to chew the fat a little more?

Unbelievable. Yep, definitely something I'd love to drink over. But I won't. Sounds like a great way to unwind, Mariah . I think I'll just head over to Netflix for a while.

Nite, y'all

Mass shootings are just another part of life now. It's a lottery going out.... You can feel it here at the big football games. Tense. There's an under current of fear.

It's certainly not worth drinking over. The reality of drinking again is that you're back to the start. It's no good at the start. The balance is rooted and whether you can see it or not, in most cases not, everything goes quickly to ruin. Starting with your thinking. That's the hardest part to change.

But I completely understand what you mean!

Just finished a good, solid, productive day at the new school. Light on the horizon in that regard.

Hope all are well!

Hope you're ok UP!

TS....I think we were just both expressing that the AV came front & center at the tragedy today, tapping on our shoulders.

Doesn't that make you sad tho Obo? the fact it's accepted now makes sad.

Definitely not a reason to drink tho.
Drinking is throwing up our hands and letting evil win.

Tell that AV to go jump

Sad you say.......

Absolutely..... let's not forget I've a 2 year old daughter in the mix here, her life is going to be vastly different to mine....

Then throw in...
Manus Island
Spacey and Weinstein
The Catholics
American gun culture expanding to Australia
Drugs and Addiction
The rising of the political right wing globally

And finally the 4th Estate, the media, dictating societal normality.

Well then it's nothing short of devastating...

innit?

That's the escape of booze for me. Not wanting to accept reality.
And let's face it, reality isn't always easy to swallow!
Then again neither is whiskey.....

Shut Up Obo.....
ok!

Drinking is never really an escape, tho is it? it's just passing the buck really.
I drank trying to make the intolerable tolerable.

At least now I can hope to do my bit, even in some small way, in leaving a world behind fit for my nieces and nephews

Drinking isn't really an escape, you're quite right about that.

Certainly for me it always causes, on a spiritual and emotional level, not to mention physical, much more harm than good.

The illusion though, well that's another story.

Dee, I think you'll find you've had a huge impact on thousands like me, and their families. Every time you have taken a little time off, for mine, you're sorely missed.

So it would be great if you could stay fit and well............

Who am I to talk, I'm right back at the start again....

I should be listening not talking!
