Class of March 2016 part 38
Good morning marchers!! Man it's quiet in here!! How is everyone doing?
Well New Year's Eve is upon us (or it has already passed....Happy 2017 to those of you!!) and while I have never really been one to go out and celebrate it I have always felt the need to drink on this occasion. It's one of the only days of the year when it was socially acceptable to get ridiculously drunk and be completely hungover the next day. So almost the perfect storm...I get to feed my addiction and not have to make any excuses for myself. This year I am determined to make that different - there will be no alcohol as I welcome the New Year...in fact I will most likely be sleeping. And I have a plan in place. I used to feel silly making plans to not drink but when I consider all the "planning" that went into my drinking it seems a little more reasonable. Anyways we will be staying over at my work tonight - there is a big wedding and then all the normal New Years crazies so my boss thought it wise to have a manger be on site. DH, my daughter and a friend of hers are coming and we will have dinner, swim, play games and all the while I will be on-call...so no drinking for this girl.
This might actually be the first year I have looked forward to in a long time.
Well off to work...love you!!
P.S. Something else I have never done is made a New Years resolution....will be giving that some thought today!!

Too early for me, guru- 1 hour 35 minutes for me- 30 minutes later in the East, BUT 2 and half hours earlier in the West. Just brewed strong black short leaf tea- will cool, dilute and put in the fridge. Nice. Not much going on, someone's friend stabbed to death, room searches for drugs (not mine), did I say all this? For some reason to me this is not a 'nice' new years atmosph. BUT heaven compared to hell. Watching Dragon Tattoo (again). The books were better. Amazing what one can do with a staple gun.
Happy New Year!!
Sounds like a good plan, Sam! Good for you. Have fun!
I kind of have the same attitude about New Years Eve ... have always felt the need to drink even though we don't really go out and celebrate. This year hubby and I are making a nice surf and turf dinner and will play games with the kiddos. I am really looking forward to starting off 2017 sober and hangover free. Have only done that while pregnant or just after having my youngest (she was born on Dec 6 and I was nursing around the clock). Anyways, it's time to change old ways of thinking/habits.
Wishing you all a wonderful and safe night. Love you all!

Oh, man I hope I don't have to go back out there ~ it's a friggin' madhouse! Went to work, the gym, then the grocery store. Got enough crap to keep me busy ~ cleaning and laundry with some background music.....I don't want to have to leave until tomorrow....so glad I won't be a part of all that madness....does anyone have a beverage of choice to cheers with? Mine is chocolate milk!
Hi!
Hi everyone! It's been 6 weeks since I logged in here. I've missed you guys! I think I need to start checking in here again. I was doing well and then the holidays and having to be around alcohol & my toxic mother got the best of me & I went into auto pilot last night and said "F it! I'm gonna drink!" So I did. Ugh.
The crazy thing is my husband went out with me & he got really drunk! It was so stupid. Such a waste of time & money.
Oh well....I need to just move forward. Hopefully by next Christmas I will have almost a full year of sobriety so I will be stronger for the holidays.
Anyway...I really missed you guys.

Day 1
Hi y'all, the 2nd now- 0104. Keeping the crazy bug in my head occupied- no family, no booze- just me and SR. Cleaned out the art space- some people just do not understand respect for themselves- or others- or property. Slashed canvases (.have repaired 2 and recycled 5 already). Even found 2 silk Japanese silk framed prints- which I pointed out to staff, probably been in there hidden for years. Not mine to take. Again- happy, peaceful and soer NY guys and gals.
Hi everyone!
7 miles down. 2010 to go. Kidding. I think I talked a few people into joining me. Sam for 1. Everything is always easier together.
Kiki- so glad you're here. We miss you when you're gone.
My drink of choice was chai black tea. I'm currently using coconut sugar for sweetener. I really like it and it is paleo- yay!
Off to meet a friend for a walk. Talk to you all later.

Hi everyone, Happy New Year! It feels good to be starting a fresh, new year. Spent most of today taking down our dead tree. It's always so depressing taking down Xmas decorations, but, honestly, a part of me is kind of glad the holidays are over.
Hope everyone is having a nice day. Off to make our traditional New Years dinner of pork and sauerkraut

Happy Birthday Keets!!!
So glad to be here with you guys! I only made it until 10 last night before falling asleep. It was so nice to get up on New Years Day without a hangover and go to the gym instead ~ hoping to do the same tomorrow ~ especially since I just ate WAY too much food!
