Welcome back Mirage. I'm feeling much better today. in fact, I'm a little on the sassy side. ha ha ---it just feels good to feel good.
Went to my PT this morning and he said I'm coming along really good. so, things are looking up all over. and being sober ta boot ! ! !
going to AA this afternoon and looking forward to that too.

Glad you had a good time Mirage , sounds very busy.
Good to hear your feeling better Babs.
I am serious about the sharks though , we have had a huge spike in shark attacks here on the North coast , but Mirage your not in Australia so you enjoy that snorkelling trip and a cruise that sound wonderful.

Still sweating it out here in Aus. We are breaking records with this heat wave. One thing it is bringing record numbers of visitors to our coastal town , I have been flat out. I am tired from work and the heat.
It should calm down after this weekend when the holidays end.

This thread needs a bump!
Been pretty busy here lately with the kiddos. They just finished up midterms this week, so the school year is half over! B is on 2 soccer teams, so between games and practices, he keeps busy. T had solo and ensemble this weekend and scored a 1 for his solo, so he was happy about that. The judge even complimented his German diction. Nice! He sang 5 different times in different choirs, 2 songs each time, so he's tired. He's trying to decide between 2 colleges in the fall right now, too. It's a hard decision.
Today, we're having our make-up Christmas party that was cancelled due to snow. About 25 of us.
I haven't seen the sun in soooooo long. Seriously need a sunny day, I'm almost getting claustrophobic, it's SO gray and dark all the time. It's never overly bothered me before, but it is now.
Forgive me if some of this info is repeated. I can't remember what I've told you and I'm not going back to look! haha

We had about 10 minutes of sun yesterday morning, Mirage ... did you get some, too? It was beautiful. I hope to see it again one day.
Not much happening here. I had a bad week a couple weeks ago, but made it through it without drinking. I wanted to drink, to numb out, to self-destruct, and today I'm so glad I didn't! Instead, I fought (furiously) my tendency to isolate and made myself get to a meeting the night I felt the worst. (I kinda had to ... I lead that meeting, which was a saving grace for me) It was a good thing.
And today I'm still sober, still a contributing member of society, still in good graces with my family and friends, still counting my sobriety in years.
What's everyone up to this weekend? Can you believe it's February? It feels like Christmas just happened!

Yes PBC..we had the sun, too. All day here! And then much of yesterday, so nice. Sorry you had a rough go a few weeks ago. Don't forget, you can use SR to help you, too. That's why we're here.
All is quite well in Mirageland. Everyone happy and healthy at the moment. I'll take it!

PBC I don't know what's happening but, yesterday was kind of one of those days where drinking was on my mind constantly. I didn't want to drink really --but, geepers I kept thinking about a straight shot of vodka and still can't figure it out. I know it was my AV but, it was constant ! ! ! Grrrrrrrr----today is better but it's still there.
The sun is shining here today and I'm going to keep myself busy. I've certainly got better things to do then drink.

Addiction is a tricky thing. It sneaks up on me sometimes, too. I don't get close to caving, but it does sneak into my mind sometimes. It would be hard for it not to considering it's culturally mainstream and prevalent and it's something we all did with regularity. I wish I were normal, regarding drinking. I'm not.

Mirage---yes, today is much better--and I'm soooo glad that I didn't give in. Again I didn't really have the desire to drink the AV thought was there. anyway, you guys know what I mean. Have a wonderful day.
