Welcome Dee1971 and brighterlife

The fatigue is very common Dee - I wouldn't worry this is going to become a permanent thing tho - you will get your energy back. Don't push yourself too hard right now.

Hope you get over the insomnia Troy - it usually took a few nights for me.

how are you doing Scram? lovehoops?

Today was hardest so far for me, I was off work all day w the kids. Worked out, got on treadmill, then just started eating, so I wouldn't drink. I worked on an off day, then my wife worked one too. No time for each

Welcome Dee1971 and brighterlife. Had some murmurings from the AV but stuffed myself at the Mongolian grill and THEN worked out. Whew...I'm remembering being at the beach last year at this time and continuously chatting with a few friends. Those friends are from my old life and I've consciously pulled away from them as I want to form relationships with people who reflect my new life....So, that's left me feeling a little isolated. I'v stayed away from getting into a relationship because I"m in such flux. It's certainly no accident that drinking Bob blew through a lot of relationships. One x wife, one x long-term gf, and a bunch of 2 or 3 date wonders. NON-drinking Bob wants to do better!

Anywho, day 17 coming to a close sober through the danger zone. Time for some ice-creme.

Go non-drinking Bob, go!
I started trying to reply to everyone's wonderful welcomes and posts (tired of starting over, dreams, poems, intake appts, drinking due to heightened emotions, engaging with the AV instead of ignoring) but there's just too much great stuff here to cope with! What a great problem :-)
You are all the best. Let's do it!!

Made it through day 2! Woohoo!

Problem I've experienced is that getting home makes me want to put something in my mouth. If it's alcohol, it's calories, and it fills my stomach. If it's not, something else has to substitute . . . so I find that I snack too much! Diet soda works (despite the various health warnings). Sigh. Darned if I do, darned if I don't. But I know that "don't" is MUCH better.

So, now on to day 3. We will do this!

Well done, KO!
I've found sparkling spring water great - the bubbles make it way less boring :-)

Checking in. Three weeks sober now that today is done. Quite depressed still.

I am thinking of you all, and still reading. I am so sorry I have been so terrible at responses.

give yourself a little time WT - we drank for years - 3 weeks is great but it may take a little longer yet for mind and body to heal - but they will

Whiteturtle I think we are sober sisters I'm 3 weeks sober today too

I am going camping tomorrow with my 2 children out into the wilds for a week. I have put SR on my phone so I am hoping to stay in touch with you all. I know that I can read posts but I haven't yet tried to post.

I might try later today an experimental post from my phone so if there is an odd post here that says 'test' its me and apologies in advance

I have packed loads of bottles of fizzy water, hot chocolate, and herbal teas to replace what would normally be packed drink wise.

Stay strong everyone

Heck yeah, Bob! Way to go! It's amazing what we settle for when we are drinking. Sober Bob does deserve better!

Just checking in at the dawn of day 7. Wow WT 3 weeks is fantastic. JL it always seems there is an awful lot of extra pressure on you. If we can help you form a plan to reduce those extra stresses let us know. There must be something to take a little of the weight off your shoulders. BBB it both feels scary and exciting deciding to make big changes if life huh? Great start KeepingOn .

Too many wonderful people to reply to all and I am only halfway through my first coffee so not with it. Could kill for a ciggy but determined to stick to the ecig for now.

Great going whiteturtle. I really hope you start to feel better soon.

Ecig worked a treat for me DD....used it for a week or so then lost the urge completely.

.

PS. Mods, suggestion -- allow users to delete posts within say 10 mins, if there haven't been any replies to the thread since that post.

With near 150 thousand members it's simply not feasible to allow users self-deletion privileges Troy....things could get very chaotic.

I'm sorry I missed whatever it was you had to say originally.

Nah, the post was fine, and nothing bad. It's just sometimes you make a post explaining yourself honestly, then re-read it, and realize it could potentially harm others who read it. That's all.

After all, this is a forum filled with pretty high strung emotions for obvious and valid reasons.

Sorry crabby posting. I have to use a iPhone so always easy to mess up. I'm making a text group list to keep conversations active. Last week made workouts a regular thing. Been a big help. Still keep missing counselor appts due to work running late, popup 2nd job, but can't turn down work being so so far behind.
Ehhh, it'll be alright. The exercise and eating is making things better. I'll read up and catch up sometime today hopefully.

Good to hear your picking up JL. I dug myself into a bit of a hole with cash so understand the money worries. Though I have more control over fixing it as it is entirely my own doing.
