Class of October 2014 Part 17
Thanks everyone. The big 38 today. That 40 number is right around the corner. Lordy! When I think of that age I think of my parents.
Just ordered up The Road Less Traveled. A whole .49 cents on Amazon. Looking forward to a good read.

Happy Birthday, Arbor!!! Homemade strawberry cake sounds sooo good. Glad you liked the list.
I walked to the library last night and The Road Less Traveled was checked out. I did find The Artist's Way and The Red Tent. Also picked up a Mr. Bean DVD. Junior and I watched Johnny English the other day and he belly-laughed through the whole thing. Hopefully, he'll enjoy this too. Mr. Bean is so funny to me, just silly stuff humor.
Enjoy your sober Thursdays, friends!

The Road Less Traveled looks like my kind of read. I will check that out. Thanks Conquest.
Today's my birthday. Was a good day. Worked, came home, had some homemade strawberry cake my wife made special. First sober birthday that I can remember, really. Since high school at the very least.

A belated Happy Birthday, Arbor!! You are still so young!
Gets busier with kids home for the summer. I have less time to sit and play on the computer, and my computer is glitchy these days. Shopping for a new one, as I mentioned before. It just ran some updates and is working pretty well at this moment, but it gets so hot.
Watched a couple of movies the last 2 nights. Still Alice, which I thought was good. I expected more of a tear jerker, but it was well done. Last night, we watched The Judge, with Robert Downey, Jr. and Robert Duvall. We liked that too. We realized there was a scene, very brief, shot abut a mile from our house. My husband recalled driving to work one day and traffic stopped due to the filming. A specific landmark from the area was used, briefly in the movie, but did not seem like much else from that location that day. Husband caught it. Good spot! I would not have noticed, lol.
Off to fold some laundry. Have we lost the little "woohoo" grumpy guy emoji? LOL. Could not find him, but that is how I feel about folding the laundry.
Also need ot leave to get daughter in an hour. First day for her volunteering at the dog shelter. She was so excited. LOL. I wonder if she will still be excited afterwards? I imagine it is some dirty work, but I do think they have them play with the dogs as well to give them socialization and exercise.

What a great opportunity for your daughter,Phoebe. I would love to do something like that. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to pretty much any animal with fur or feathers. I like to think that my allergies are God's clever way of keeping me from ending up with 100 cats and dogs.
I have a feeling that your family will have a new, cuddly addition very soon. It would be too hard for me to resist taking them all home.
Leigh, I can't wait to start reading now. It's been a long time since I truly got lost in a good book. There's really nothing better. I hope you're feeling well lately. It's so good to have you back.

Conquest, my daughter is allergic to some animals, and especially cats, and even her own hamster. Hamster issues are easy to contain, however. But, she does not yet seem to react to dogs! This will test that a bit, but she snuggles up to our neighbor's golden retriever all the time and seems fine as well.
I do think we will find a dog through this volunteer gig. I expected it would come up once she would work there, and I would like one. However, Starting to think about some of the limitations too, mostly to being gone for a long day trip or travelling.
