BBQ, isn't it a hike that never seems to end? I am exhausted. We climb,we fall, we climb.
I read, a lot, I write, a lot. Yikes! What a ride.
Music too; I often just stick headphones on and flip head over heels into it to heal as well as escape. Music is great. It helps with sleep too now.
Being awake, sober, can be frightening; how much we have ignored or neglected.
It would be wondrous if somehow we can fix it all in mere weeks.
Reality for some of us, it may take months, even years.
So be it I realize. Whew!

Tonks, I really dig the Stooges reference! Is Brynn the bald one? Names escape me. I mean, we know Shannon has great hair and BBQ is too sweet to be bald.....because that makes sense.
BBQ, glad you are feeling better. Sorry you overdid it though. Sounds painful.
DAX! You are definitely making the list. I really appreciate it, man. There is a significant chance I will be taking you up on that. Cravings and urges are back with a vengeance. Oh, btw, I got the individualist, the loyalist, and the peacemaker. Collectively pretty accurate.

I forgot about all the poopy things that accompanies the first few days. Like joyful anxiety and companions. I'm fully embracing it. Letting it in. Feeling it. All this cannot fool me. I know it ends. I've been in the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm a little wild and beastly though about these stupid cravings. No worries though. It snowed so I couldn't get booze and such if I tried. Safe and sound, hiding from family and about to force myself into piano practice.

Sober today, day 9. My thoughts go to those that have slipped recently. I got back up on the horse, you can too.
Feeling kind of down today, not sure why. But I'm not drinking. Went for a walk and that helped a lot. Stay strong this weekend all!

Operation Shoe Shopping is complete! Woot! Wifey is tucked in for her nap.
Just got off of a whirlwind phone call with an aunt who has bi-polar d/o and is definitely experiencing some mania. Adore her and it is tough when she is having symptoms. All over the map.
Also got a text that my buddy is heading back to the hospital. He had a stroke about 3 weeks back. It ended up being a small warning more than anything. It didn't slow him down, though. This disease is ruthless. He likely won't let me in because he has been pretending to be sober for over a few months. He lost rights to his son so that's the motivation for feigning sobriety. Unfortunately, it gets you. Feeling fear for him. He has been my best friend for fifteen years. His wife and my wife, he and I, inseparable. They divorced about three years ago and it has been rough. I am super close to his ex still. Heavily involved with his son who is five. Just has been one of the most painful things to watch play out over time.
I called him, left a message. Texted him. Waiting to hear of this hospital visit is something big or small. His text was nonsensical so I just don't know...
Think I am going to stay in tonight, chill with my lovely, hang out some on here.

Happy Birthday Shannon! Dax will be praying for your friend. My sobriety date was Dec 13 but I relapsed Jan 4 so it really is Jan 5. I feel bad I didn't fess up because I wanted to stay with you guys but I feel like if I am not honest here I am not doing my sobriety any good.

I'm glad you were honest, Della. I know it's not easy but you're right. It doesn't do any good to cover it up. You don't have to leave!!! Family sticks together. There will be ups and downs but no one is kicked to the curb.
Curly!! That's his name. Brynndasaurus, you're just such a good sport it is hard not to poke fun at ya. Always in love though. Plus, I can't speak for Tonks but juvenile is what I do best
