Class of August 2014 Part 3
It's Thursday before a long holiday weekend. I don't have a recovery-related book to read at the moment so I am trying to cover my bases and I just decided to choose a book I had read previously. My fingers fell on this book. And wham. I am positive I won't drink today. Or this weekend.
The longest consecutive days I have gone is 24 days. That's like pennies comparatively and yet I was so proud of that. I cannot WAIT to get past that and do a little happy dance.

Quit 8/19 so I'm at 9 days.
Feeling good physically, much work to do mentally. Off for a couple of days so going to do some useful things that have not had the attention they needed in a long time. Job 1, clean the garage. Job 2, yard work. Job 3, clean the basement. For some strange reason, this sounds like more fun than getting drunk !

Made it home - in Jammies even tho it's only 6:15pm and have eaten my face full. But, I didn't drink and I'm not going to drink tonight. So ... Another one sober. Hoping tomorrow will bring a little relief from the AV demons that have been chasing me the last 36hours.
Thanks August for helping me through!

Gonna start with a 15 min kettlebell workout and then finish with some kick boxing I think, or run. Not sure.
argghh its so great to back in the zone. I have missed this kind of energy. So much more positive than drinking and battling with self hatred and fear

Ps: I also just calculated how many calories I've most likely saved by not drinking for the last 11 days ...it's a whopping 16000! Now, I've probably ate just as much in compensation but that just blows my mind!!!! No wonder I've gained 30lbs.

Hi everyone, I am joining the August group, today is day 1. I don't want to be joining the august 2015 group -or any of the upcoming months. I don't want to ruin and waste any more of my life to this. Time to turn it around and live.
Welcome Avra !!!! So glad you are with us !!!
Hi ATeam-
I see a lot of peeps with bigs plans for holiday. If you got iTunes check out this documentary "Unguarded" by ESPN. Came out in 2011. You don't need to be a sports fan to relate. I watch periodically for if he can do it I can do thing.
Rooting for us and a peaceful, sober wend!
And welcome Scooter and new teammates!

I'm feeling overwhelmed. Which is bad. School. Bills. Not sure if I've made the right choice. It will take me a year longer to complete my rn degree than i had thought all because of an error on my part with pre requisites. The course loads will be lighter but i just want to get it completed and start making a living wage. This normally would be good cause to drink myself into oblivion. I ate and walked away from the computer and my ever growing lists of to dos.
