I'm finding life's always reinventing itself for me these days, quite refreshing in some ways but fustrating in others.

Having gone through so many drunken, hazy days I seem to embrace every day good or bad. Find myself alot more subdued and content these days.

Not sure how to explain it but I feel I appreciate life more now.

Good luck with the changes Jeni. Whatever keeps us happy.

Yeah I know what you mean Nicky...I think I appreciate what I've got far more now. I was too wrapped up in my little alcoholic world to notice what was going on around me!!

I've joined the gym, and got my induction this afternoon. I've quit smoking for a few weeks now, and I'm looking to generally get healthier as a way to feel better, combat work stress and sleep through the night!

Hypo, if you don't check in shortly, I will be coming after you again.....x

I'm here!

I am feeling better in myself (thanks in no small part to you guys) but I am still having what's turning into a majorish plumbing problem. I thought it would be okay while I went to work yesterday and I came home to a leaking ceiling. Poor dog must have been wondering what the hell was going on. I am 89% sure it's got into my electrics too. I'm staying home today trying to find a plumber plus I have to empty some of the water out of the tank every 4 hours or so (Having to do that in the middle of the night is most fun). To look on the bright side though it has given me a major kick up the arse. I need to do so much to my house but I am always playing catch up with stuff that goes wrong, But if nothing else I am having to clear all the sh;t out of my room so I can get to the leaky bits. I tend to be very laissez-faire about these things but I am certainly seeing the benefit to being a bit more organised and having a savings account. I am really pleased that I made some effort to get my finances in order a few months ago. This will probably hurt but I won't have to borrow money to fix it.

Well done on the gym menbership and the smoking Jeni I am inspired. I have gotten steadily fatter since my initial post booze weight loss and while it's not my number one priority losing some weight will at least make it easier to dress myself. I am at that stage where I much prefer wearing pajamas! It's very fetching

Hope everyone else is doing well x How's things INH? x

Oh heck, I hope you get it sorted!! It's amazing how you can cope with these things a whole lot better sober!

I'm off for my induction at the gym this afternoon but I've got some schoolwork to do first. H is home today so we may go out and see a film later, if I'm still able to walk after the gym of course!xx

What's amazing is that I didn't think that drinking would fix it, genius

I forgot you are on half term Jeni, enjoy your week off I think all the plumbers are on holiday too though

I think so. I have a new ball valve but the overflow pipe is completely blocked so it this floaty bally thing fails the same thing will happen again. Should be fine though. It has been raining a lot today though and I have realised that some water in the kitchen is coming from the roof. Oh joy. One thing at a time... How was your day? How was the gym?? x

I had a good day thanks, the gym was like a different world! My legs were aching so badly at one point though! I realised just how unfit I am. I'm going back tomorrow for my next session, I am hoping being totally exhausted physically and not just mentally may help with my insomnia...fingers crossed xx

Exercise is good all round so I am sure it will help to some extent Jeni

Hope everyone is doing well. I have a busy social weekend ahead which is unusual for me and always a bit of a stressor. I have tended to pull out of things alot. But I have fully functioning plumbing, have sent my volunteering application off and last night I organised all my music for a group I run, something I have been meaning to do for, umm probably years but at least months. I feel like I have no excuses so will have to be sociable!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I have my fingers crossed that this good weather holds x

I'm fine. Got some family stuff going on and some decisions to make which aren't easy but i will be ok. We've had a lot of cloud here....that can't be right? We're the Sunny South!!

Glad you're getting out and about and socialising. I'm pretty much a hermit these days. I've decided I actually don't like people very much! I've got a few good friends that I see every few months, but apart from that I'm quite happy at home. Oh....except when I'm at the gym where I've been every night this week!!! New addiction time.... !xx

What's happened to INH ??xx

Hey you two!

Kinda forgot to check in. I went up to Oregon to visit my sis and despite a couple of slight or very minuscule temptations. I made it out unscathed. I don't think that I have visited my sister without drinking since I joined the Corps. In fact I know I haven't. I am not sure that I was the best of company, as I tend to stay pretty quiet without alcohol in my system, but I know that she was glad to see me.

I loved the area that she was staying in temperature and weather wise. Random fact about Oregon it is the only state in America that has ever type of enviroment on the planet within its borders, from rain forest to tundra, its got it all. The Oregon coast is the "rain forest", so its nice and green. I could do without so much rain but you can't get one without the other. One of these days I will get my but out of the desert, I don't like the heat or the brown.

I am doing good though, still going to meetings, worked with my sponsor today, chugging along at varying speeds.

Sounds lovely INH. Glad you managed okay. Don't worry about being quiet. I feel like I am only just coming to an even keel after getting sober, I was freaked out in company for quite a while.

Every time it rains here too I remind myself that it's what keeps England so green and I should quit moaning. Today though I ended up going on a 7 mile walk and got seriously burnt. I guess I didn't think. The weather has been so changeable that I didn't expect it to stay sunny all day. Me and the dog are totally knackered now, I've just had a snooze on the sofa and she's still conked out. It's been nice. Despite my now very rosy chest and neck!

Haha! I burn like crazy as well. I went on a three mile run the other day and caught a little bit of a burn from that. I avoid being outside in sunny skies, which makes living in the desert that much more sucky. Lol.

Sorry you're not feeling good Nicky. Sometimes it helps just to keep doing normal stuff even if it's just going through the motions. I hope you feel better soon, but if not feel free to moan here x

Marks, it'd be lovely to hear from you! x
