Well, I'm back to day 1. I was so worried about Superbowl Sunday that I forgot about "Watching basketball with a Vodka Thursday". Well on the bright side I have stopped driking for 6 days, 3 days, and 3 days in the month of January. Twelve out of 30 is better than 0 out of 30 which is my typical (exact) monthly tally for the past 6 years.

Back on the horse Jack and you have the right attitude BUT if you can make superbowl sober your confidence will soar and if not you will still have 14 out of 30 for January. Keep plugging.

Thanks FUBAR!
My wife asked why I wasn't having a cocktail tonight - I just kinda shrugged it off. I haven't told her that I'm trying to quit. She thinks that I'm drinking 6 oz of vodka a night (3 drinks X 2 oz per). In reality it's 4 oz in each drink - 12 oz every night (plus one beer to start the evening). But she thinks that 6 oz is a lot, so best to do this on my own.

Can anyone tell me the B vitamin(s) that I should be taking - I've seen several different ones quoted.

One the positive side - had a great swim workout. Can't wait until I'm sober for 2, 3, 4 weeks to see how my workouts are.

Good for you......you will get there. Every little thing (I know it doesn't seem little) you do will start building your strength! Someday you will walk by the wine and flip it off!! Hee Hee.............it will get easier, I promise. If hammer-head me can quit, anyone can!

Jackstone, keep getting back on that horse......one day it will buck and you will still be on it. Keep posting your thoughts and get our support when you need it!
Glad to have you both in our awesome class!!

Had a bit of a rough day but not too terrible. Traffic was awful, was on a bus that took an hour and half to get home when it normally takes half that. There was a handful of passengers who were inebriated and the alcohol vapors from them were unbearable. One of them was talking about drinking the whole ride. At first it was a little trigger-some, but the more they elaborated on it the more it turned me off.
My garbage disposal is clogged which made it so I had to wash my dishes in the bath tub tonight. Haven't eaten all day, but I'm about to so I'll feel much better soon. Glad to be home!

Allport... if memory serves me correctly (which it seldom does), don't you have 15 days sober today??? Isn't your sobriety date the same as mine? Irregardless, yay! Another sober day for us!

Love ya all!
Hi Snowdog!

Have you tried Melatonin? Herbal sleep-aid that's over the counter. It just might help?.... Good job on Day 5! xoxox

Good morning class of January. Last day of the month, and congrats to everyone for making it this far! This is a milestone for me, I drank only once in the thirty-one days! I only remember not drinking for maybe two or three days in a year!!! Even if I fall down every now and then, I will be happy to keep up this kind of pace. Now if I could only slow down my coffee intake!!!!
p.s. Where do we pick up our caps and gowns?

This is the right attitude. Slipping isn't falling and faltering isn't failing.

As far as the caps and gowns go. I don't think you get it we are in the class of January 09 FOREVER. We can never leave. We are destined to post here for the rest of our living days until they pry the keyboard from our cold stiff hands. I stole that from Charlton Heston only about guns,

Like it or not you are stuck with me and vica versa.

There is the spring breeak to look forward to though.

Just worked a 12hr night shift. I'm in the back of the class wearing sunglasses to hide the fact that my eyes are half closed, falling asleep...sober.

Day 17 or 18, too tired to do higher math.

That doesn't compute, Fubar. I've never been conjoined with a Canadian before. Do i have to start saying "eh?" out of one side of my mouth?

Excellent work to both Least and dojohn. It's been a wild month, heya? It feels like much more than a month right now. Less than a week to go for me to crack 30 days! I honestly cannot remember the last time i went 30 freakin' days! without drinking something harder than pepsi. Unreal. Let's keep up the chatter, people!

I don't know what i've been told!
Jan 09 is warm, outside is cold!
One, two! Won't drink!
Three, four! To-day!
One, two, three, four, won't drink...
To-day!
