Class of January Part 2
I don't have the time to respond individually right now...Just wanted to stop in to say Congrats to everyone sticking to this...
I'm on day 10 and things are getting easier. I haven't had much time to post, but just reading here reminds me to stick with what I'm doing.
Thanks to you all

Hey all,
Hanging in there, day 13.
The rat-brain addiction voice has been yammering about this same time for the last couple of days. I understand this, and have been repeating over and over:
It amazes me that after this much time, how strong the urge to drink can be.

The rat-brain addiction voice has been yammering about this same time for the last couple of days. I understand this, and have been repeating over and over:
- Tonight is almost over (EST)
- I'll be happier in the morning if I don't pick up tonight
- Tomorrow night will probably bear the same cravings, so if I cave tonight...
- Since I crave alcohol I probably have a problem with it
- Two weeks ago I was sick, sick, sick
- This is for my son
It amazes me that after this much time, how strong the urge to drink can be.
You and I are marked on the same day!! I am feeling pretty good. Wish I could fall asleep earlier, last night I saw 1am. Other than that, life is improving. I feel like I have wasted the last 6 weeks. (in particular--it spiraled for me)
But here's to all of us! Class of January! Woo Hoo!

It's time to change!

Welcome to all who have decided to join us!! You're part of the family now... kind of like the Sopranos - not! Great love and support here!
To all of us who stayed sober today ' Cheers! I'm just trying to stay in "today".... thinking about the SuperBowl is exciting for me because I don't have to decide today on the game and drinking because I'm not there yet!
Sobriety tastes good to me today! Hugs to all you all! :ghug3

Day nine and feeling shaky... Got turned down for ANOTHER job. Sheesh. Job market sucks and there is a snowstorm outside, city is underneath snow and ice, I'm snowed in. Can't get to a meeting. Can a girl get a d*mn break? Ok I'm done venting now. Well... Maybe.
So sorry, donkey. The urge can create a pretty one-sided conversation in your head. It's like alcohol was top of its class in debate. The best thing is to jump right back in our class! We're all here for you! You can do this! Cheers, friend. :ghug

That's OK wonky but you will have to do 100 lines
I will not drink today
I will not drink today
I will not drink today
I will not drink today
And no cut and paste. The teacher will know the difference.
