Thank you, God, for a break from pain.
Thank you, God, that I have an opportunity to visit with my mom this coming weekend.
Thank you, God, for brothers and sisters-in-law, who continue to gather around with love and willingness to support our mom.
Thank you, God, for the folks, who care so very well for my mom and others with dementia.
Amen

Anaya, I am so glad to hear that your Mom is well supported and cared for, having watched my father live with dementia. Thank you God for Anaya and her family, her mother's caretakers, and for the love and care you place upon her Mom, God.

Thank you God for some spark in my brother's voice and a little laughter, thank You for lifting the depression that had settled into his life this week.

I'm sending heart felt loved to all those struggling.
You are loved and cared about.

Dear God, today I did not shine brightly for a brief
moment and that wasnt right of me. For that I am
truly sorry for my actions and ask for Your forgiveness.

Reading about folks passing away from cancer or
addiction definitely hurts and saddens me. Seems
like every day there is another who has left this Earthly
world from various struggles.

Thank You God for this life I am living today. This sober
life and the gift of a recovery program I continue to follow
to the best of my human ability. It's not always perfect
but I try to strive to be better each day.

Thank you, dear Astro. I appreciate the prayers and your kindness. 👍🙏

God bless all who suffer and are isolated, that You will bring them peace, comfort, and healing; that You would encourage them to reach out to others, others who will gladly lend a hand.

38 When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
39 When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’
40 And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25:31-46

Ah, I think I have moments like that most days and for that I'm very grateful for His forgiveness, grace, and mercy

Thank you God for this life in recovery that allowed me to receive a Super Bowl work credential last night. Somehow I don't think they would've appreciated the old me showing up inebriated, but now I can shine and be a worker that I'm proud to be.

That is some awesome news Astro, that you will be working
the Super Bowl coming up on Feb, 12 right there in your home
state and not far from you. No doubt that you will do your work
well.

Thank You God for a beautiful day and for helping me
get my backyard covered with frost blankets before tempts
dropped last night and tonight. Even tho the tempts were
not in the 20's or teens like we recently had, 32 low with
frost is enough for me to worry and want to protect my
"babies" from getting too cold.

My babies or in other words, everything I have planted
in the ground i care so deeply and passionate about. So
taking time to cover them so they are snug as a bug in
a rug, so to speak, makes me happy and all fuzzy inside.

Knowing that I did everything I possibly could to protect
and save them, just as I am doing to remain sober each
day, well, it makes me responsible.

Here is a motivational spark for our life today.....

You only live once, but if you do it right, then once
is enough.

Thank you, God, for restful sleep.
Thank you, God, that I will spend time with dear bro and sis today. I cannot wait to see them and share a meal with them.
Thank you, God, that my senior dog is hanging in; he gets his frisky spurts but I can tell he is declining. I wish he could speak to let me know how he feels, if he has pain. He will need to get with the vet soon.
Thank you, God, for Your mercy, forgiveness and all the blessings I often overlook. This time free from illness is being spent productively. I will make the best of the rest of my dash, as best I can.

Thank you God for a beautiful Saturday spent with my wife, each of us working on our hobbies, enjoying meals and some TV time together. Thank you also God for my visit to the hobby shop, the conversation and laughter among the large crowd gathered. Thank you God for rain and cold weather, You know our need for this life sustaining rain, our prayers for our aquifers and reservoirs to be filled are being answered.

Thank You God for the gift of music that we enjoy every day.

Thank You God for protecting us throughout the day, especially
when out on the road with other drivers doing their own thing
while driving. Many times it makes us crazy scared. So to arrive
home alive and safely is a blessing.

Thank You for the gift of gardening and continuing to be inspired
to work at keeping it fun, interesting and passionate.

Spring is near as I wait anxiously for the arrival of new plants
at the nursery and new gardening ideas for color and lots of
blooms to attract the birds, bees and butterflies.

Thank You God for my special little buddy, my neighbor's cat
who visits me each day and keeps me company while working
in my yard.

Thank You God for continued progress on my husband
health. I pray that his back remains pain free for many
months ahead of him.

I love hearing about your gardening, sharon. We're getting lots of rain this weekend and our roses have been blooming, rare for this time of year.

Thand you God for loving me, and for the family and friends who love me, when one of my children has strayed and I'm so confused by their actions and lack of communication. My heart hurts, but I'm reminded that I am always loved and needed.

Thank you astro. I'm so happy to hear about your Roses
and am glad that Mother Nature's miracle grow, rain, is helping
them bloom.

What color Roses do you have?

I'm waiting anxiously to get to the nursery to see all the
new rose stock they will have for this year. Last year I grabbed
some Knockout Roses in Coral and they bloomed a
gorgeous color. I also have yellows, and pinks and reds too.

All in different varieties and names.

The Family — The Knock Out® Family of Roses (knockoutroses.com)

Dear Lord, I put everything in Your hands today,
my family, my health, my home, my securities,
my fears.
You are the only One I trust with all I have and
with all I am. Amen.

Thank You, Lord for my life, my marriage, and the
gift of a recovery program I use as a guideline to
achieving continuous sobriety each day.

We have pink & red, sharon. They bloom beautifully through much of our warm seasons.

Thank you God for inspiring me through my occasional stubbornsess and tendency to get lazy during down times to get back to my extra jobs. The holiday season is over, I need to dig in and support my home and life.

Cunning Baffling Powerful

The thing is, even if I could go back, I wouldn't
belong there anymore.

Hmmmm, that is true. And why would I even want to
go back to the pain, suffering and cruelty of others.

Thank You, God, for bringing here to the place where
I am today. Soberly content.

Thank you for sharing that wisdom sharon, so very true.

Thank you God for what I have today, for where I am today, for my relationship with You. Without God and sobriety all I am blessed with ceases to exist.

Thank You God for the gift of lights.

Growing up Catholic, going to church and school,
brothers who were altar boys and a mom who would
clean the side room next to the altar, dusting and such.

I recall the flickering red candle up on the altar which
represented God's presence there.

Here at home I have quite a few uplight lamps that I
have red bulbs inside them. This morning while getting
ready for the day, i glanced at the lamp with the red light
glowing inside and immediately thought about the light
in church and filling my heart with joy and gratitude.

Thank You God for never being very far from me, us.

That flickering of light never goes out in my heart and
soul.

Remember, you lose when you stop trying.

Thank you God for all the professionals in the medical field who provide care for my older brother, today I'm praying for a helpful diagnosis for his eyesight as his latest prescription doesn't appear to work as his opthomologist thought it would.

I see that the PGA golf is playing in La Quinta, Calif.
and the weather there while watching it on TV, looks
clear today with blue skies and cooler weather. The
grounds and course is absolutely gorgeous over there.

Even the wild life and especially 2 beautiful Swans
swimming in the water.

I know the rains have done alot of flooding over
there and pray that folks are getting things back
to somewhat normal.

Thank You God for watching over us. Thank you
for protecting us and giving us resources to tap into
for help when we need it.

Thank You God for guiding us along our journeys
in life and recovery. Strengthening us with each
step we take.

I pray that Astros brother receives continued help
for his sight, which is a huge gift. I too know about
fears that come with problems dealing with eyes
as I have gone thru my own share of it.

To see dark spots and not knowing what was
causing them, to having physicians work their
God given talent to fix it is a blessing. Today, I
have only peripheral vision in my right eye, so
it is extremely important to take care of the left
eye and report any change in either eye immediately
to avoid losing sight completely.

Having Faith in knowing that God will take care of
all our needs is comforting. Thank You God. Amen.

Congratulations! And thank you for leading by example

Sharon, my brother received good news. The specialist in Tucson gave him a bad prescription so prisms were much too strong. Local optometrist will make a new pair of glasses. That at least rules out (mostly) the possibility of another cancerous tumor. Whew! Thank you God for this diagnosis for my brother.
