Thank You God for each day sober and for the willingness
to remain teachable to learn new things in life to help make
life just a tad easier to live, appreciate and enjoy.

Gratitude for grace

Thank you God for Men's Bible study this morning, so good to attend.

Thank you God for an incredible hospital, friendly staff, skilled surgical team, and for getting my "bread basket" patched up. It feels good to be heading back to "normal" after months of discomfort and pain.

Is "bread basket" the same as "muffin top"?

So happy to hear that your procedure was a success
Astro, and that you can now move forward without
uncomfortness.

The coon has come to my garden of paradise each
night continuing to do destruction. However, with each
section he disturbs, I patch it up and so far, he moves
on to something I havent worked on yet.

Last night, he went into one of my cinder block
gardens and dug thru that. So, with swift action
and a trip to Lowes and Home Depot, i got some
small paver bricks, a roll of weed cloth, pins and
now that garden has been repaired and the coon....

Well, we will see what else he can find to get in
trouble with. Slowly, his trips to our backyard will
be number as he won't have anything else to dig
into freely.

Thank you, Lord, for helping me figure out how to
work and protect our investment and continue to
bring beauty to all Your Natures blessings and gifts.

Not exactly Bread basket is just the stomach. I've been on a diet and losing weight so the muffin top is pretty much all gone. I'm glad to hear that waging war with the coon is still going well, keep up the good fight sharon!

Thank you God for lots of rest, non-narcotic pain medication, healthy foods, a warm fireplace, good entertainment on TV, and anything else that's helping me to recover from my surgery.

Cunning Baffling Powerful

Know why so many folks with addiction believe
in God? Because they met the devil.

Yes, the devil never sleeps and is always working
to trip us up. Thank God I have faith and belief
in You, guiding me in recovery to stay strong,
teachable in achieving Your infinite mercy
and promises.

Thank you God for the tech and IT people in our lives and workplaces that help with technology issues and keep us working efficiently and smoothly, I certainly admire their expertise and I'm grateful for their competent help.

Thank you God for the warmth of our home after spending
time outside in the damp cool air in preparation for cold tempt
down in the 20's with this up coming system approaching our
area beginning tomorrow evening.

4 nights in the low 20's is quite cold for us southerners.

With a week of defending my garden of paradise, the racoon,
who still comes by for visits, like this morning when he knocked
down a metal trellis leaning against the wall, he has just about
run out of digging spots for now.

Which is a huge WIN in my book of gardening.

I grabbed my flashlight to do my walk about early this
morning in the dark, in search of that coon, when I spotted
2 lite eyes on top the roof peeking behind the chimney.

My flashlight picked up those bright eyes as I followed
him walking from one end of the roof top where we have
our house gated with a tall white vinyl fence. Looks like
he enters and exits from both gates.

When I walked to one gate to catch him climbing down,
there he was looking down on me from the roof with those
cute big eyes. They are really cute and one cant stay mad
at them even when they do what they do.

Anyway, tomorrow will be blanket day covering my
backyard to protect all that grows so lovely each season.

When one thing doesn't work, we try something else.

Just like here in SR with the Thank You button. Since
it is not available at this time, then we try something
that does work. Like taking time to type out those Thank
You words to praise or encourage others.

Back in the day before all this amazing technology we
depend on today, there was no computers with a button
to push to say thank you. You depended on pen and
paper or picking up the phone to give that person a call
to say what you wanted to say.

Thank You God for the wisdom, knowledge and experiences
learned thru out my years here on Earth to draw on when
today's technology isn't working.

Reading words of encouragement and positivity can
lift others high above their struggles they maybe experiencing
that moment or day.

Thank You God for waking me to a new sober day
and help me cover my garden of paradise today in
time for the hard freeze we are about to have for the
next few nights.

Bless and protect all those this time of the year, especially
if they are traveling to and from their holiday destinations.

Sharon, thank you for the reminder about our acts of kindness that we can perform towards each other every day, nice words can go a long way. And I agree, we've had raccoons in our yard here in Phoenix, they're somewhat rare, but they sure are cute and just looking for a meal around our trash containers.

Thank you God for keeping us warm through these cold spells, I ask that you give extra protection to sharon, her husband, and their beautiful home and garden. Keep us safe from freezes lord, and keep those who have so little protection as comfortable as they have the ability to be.

If we are gonna be successful in recovery, then we gotta
be all in or not at all. There is no halfway. Thank You God
for these important reminders which continue to be helpful
day in a day out.

Thank You, God, for Astros quick recovery and back
on track, not skipping a beat in his daily life.

With Your Hand over me, Thank You God for helping
me complete covering my Camellias and garden beds
yesterday in preparation for a hard freeze early this
morning.

Round one freeze is almost behind us with 2 and 3
following closely behind. The cold I can handle but it's
the wind that makes things crazy. Crazy like uncovering
or blowing blankets off the beds making my plants, bushes,
shiver with extreme coldness.

Been up since 2ish, grabbed my coffee, then robe,
flashlight, extra cloths pins and out the door I went to
recover my beds so the 20 degree tempts dont burn
the leaves.

Breakfast down and sun is shining at 8:30, Ive got
hot chocolate near by and feeling warm and grateful
on this new sober day.

Lord, I'm asking for your help in calming the winds and raising the temperatures so sharon doesn't have to work so hard in the early hours and that folks across the country are safe and warm. Amen.

Thank you God for gifts of food and beverage from friends and family members, we're enjoying our Christmas flavor coffees this morning as our breakfast burritos warm up in the oven, a warming and satisfying way to begin our day as we work from home which is a blessing too.

Thank you, Astro, for the extra blessings send this way.
Much appreciated as always.

Now, let's hear about those wonderful, delicious sounding
Christmas coffees you guys are drinking out your way.

A trip to Lowes and Home Depot for frost blankets and both
were completely sold out. Then the 3rd place, our locally
owned nursery was a charm. Thank you, God, for our dependable
nursery folks for staying open for all us gardeners and having
just about everything we need during each season.

Including a smile and inviting warm hug from folks who
treat us like part of their family.

Your neighborhood nursery sounds wonderful sharon, and if you received a hug, well let's just say we need as many of those as we can get lately

I'm sipping on an Andes Mint Chocolate flavored coffee at the moment, and it's delightful!

Thank you God for the gift that is you, the baby Jesus, the greatest gift of all, God with us.

Merry Christmas friend, Astro, to you and your family on
this special day celebrating the birth of our precious baby
Jesus.

Are your flavored coffees the K Cup or pods that go in the
Keurig machine?

We have an old model Keurig Classic that uses K-cups, sharon. Merry Christmas to you and your husband! I hope your day was peaceful and you had time to relax and enjoy each other's company. Our day was chaotic, but in a good way. Lots of loud chatter as the grandkids opened their gifts, and us old folks got to help them assemble things and clean up the aftermath. We finally got home early afternoon and exchanged our gifts. one of my presents was a 20qt canning set, I can't wait to try preserving food!

Thank you God for these precious moments with family, and most importantly with our grandchildren as they are growing up so quickly. Thank you for our love and tenderness, may it radiate out to others in our lives.

It was a shock to family members when papers were
sent to my 1st husband a few yrs back asking for a divorce.
Fast forward, time has healed slowly and lines of communication
have opened. Thank You God for that.

Today, it is just my now loving husband and myself celebrating
all the holidays quiet and simple. We both have been there
and done many of the same things folks are doing with their
own families today. The hustle and bustle of getting foods, presents
and all the trimmings are now fond memories for us with all
those loved ones.

The lines of communication in the way of phone calls, emails,
and FB messages is the connection between family and
friends today which is a huge gift in itself for there are many
out there in the world completely alone and isolated.

Anyway, I try not to forget the Gods not gonna give us anymore
than what we can handle even tho it may seem like alot at
times.

I try to honor my Father in heaven by being and living
the way I am suppose to, all to the best of my human
ability. To continue on this journey in life sober, healthy
and honest.

It is the greatest, humblest gift I can give my family
and my Higher Power whom I choose to call God.

Dear Lord, bless my friends and family as we march
on towards a new year filled with positivity, hope and blessings.

Thank you God for bringing Christmas Day to a close with a quiet and restful night, plenty of sleep including the dog sacked out on our bed between us. Today we ask for not too much work and an afternoon at the movies together where we can appreciate each other's love and devotion before we return to a long work week, lots of double shifts scheduled.
