Thanks! I’ll take shotgun!

Glad to be starting my job tomorrow
For getting “stuff” done
For helping a friend from afar
For clothes that fit

Aly, hope yesterday’s headache is better.
Jack and Zen, glad we can see you even if you are fighting low energy.
Free, woo hoo on shotgun!

Grateful
- my kids did go out to dinner with me after all. And my son didn’t complain … too much.
- for the cool things our phones and iPads can do. Like yesterday when I used my phone to pretty quickly scan some papers. And I have so many books just living in my ipad. Kinda crazy.
- that I join Fearless in the tired in a good way in my legs from workout yesterday
- for another day full of chances
- for all of you.

Grateful to be back here again!
Grateful for coffee (actually espresso, yikes)
Grateful for a nice Mother's Day.
Grateful I took some time to visit with my dad yesterday since he has a bad cold.
Grateful for no presentations this week (at least I don't think I have any!) Sometimes they creep up on me.
Grateful for telework today.
Grateful the sun is shining.
Grateful to spend time with my in-laws this weekend.
Grateful to be sober.

Woot Woot Free gets shotgun
Dang it, I call backseat then. Wha Wha

Grateful

OTC pain meds
coffee
to seek knowledge
great teachers of life lessons
to have a beginners mind
fun, amusement and laughter in sobriety . I had a great fear that 8 months ago I would be sober but sad for the rest of my life. I feared I burned-out all my good neuron chemicals in addiction. The first few weeks in sobriety I cried a lot about how I will always be depressed in sobriety.
WOW how times have changed for the better, thank goodness.
 for being my HP.

Been very rough. Still in hospital. So darn grateful for my good friend that has been my number 1 advocate since day one of my stay here and helped to improve their poor care
grateful I can walk with a walker even though there is permanent nerve damage. When I get home I will try to catch up.

Alpine, prayers that you feel better soon.
Grateful for my therapy appt. I just wish it was later. My housekeeper is coming tomorrow and my room is a mess. I don't like to leave it a mess for her. I picked up a bunch of cans and junk and threw them out. She put a bunch of my clothes on my vent, which I had to take off given it is SO hot today.
Grateful I have therapy this morning. I just wish it was a little later. I don't like early appts. I have to read my homework to him. The homework he gives me is a lot. I'm going to ask him to dial it back a bit.
Grateful that I won't have to leave my mom for too long. I have grocery shopping to do, but I dont' think it's going to happen today.
Grateful for all of you so very much. You all are what keeps me sober. Grateful that today will be a better day. Love you all.

Back from trip - will have to catch up later, there's so much gratitude!
Alpine - I'm thrilled to see you posting. Hoping the worst is behind you & you'll begin to heal & feel like yourself again. So sorry for the bad experience.
Grateful for all the places we saw - from home in New York to Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, & West Virginia. Just a small amount of time in each spot, but lovely sights.
Grateful a cardinal couple has built a nest in our Rhododendron bush.
Grateful a flock of Rose Breasted Grossbeaks landed in our yard.
Grateful I didn't plant any flowers yet - maybe a frost this week. Boo.
Missed you, Grat Family. Will read all the posts as soon as possible.

And everyone else, I read and appreciate all your posts.
Grateful this morning to be sorting through delicate political issues with the finance team (my volunteer "job"). I'm learning stuff.

First of all Alpine so glad you checked in. We have all been thinking of you. It is great you have a friend that is advocating for you and I am so sorry that your care level was/is poor. Hope you can go home soon.
Hi to Sam, FBL, Jack and PS good to see you.
Welcome to Countrystix!
Fearless so glad you had a great mother's day.
NL I am glad you kids went out with you for dinner.
Zen how wonderful that sobriety is turning out to be so much better than expected. It is for me too.
Hev welcome home. Glad you had such a nice trip.
Aly I hope therapy ends up being good and not stressful. My anxiety specialist that I saw for a while gave me anxiety with all the CBT homework he gave me. Kind of ironic. But I have tools to use when my anxiety ramps up. My biggest issue with anxiety is health anxiety.
Free good luck at the new job!
Sorry if I forgot anyone.

Grateful for leftover Indian food for lunch.
Grateful for a nice mother's day. The highlight was seeing my granddaughter, getting a neck and reflexology foot massage from my daughter and winning a super competitive tennis match. Also my husband made breakfast and lunch.
Grateful for a delicious vegan gluten free lavender blueberry ice cream sandwich on Friday night at one of our favorite restaurants.
Grateful for my sobriety.
Grateful for SR and the GP.

Checking in!

Hi all! I've been in the "rooms" and haven't been on SR but thought I would check in. I just ticked off five years sober thanks to the help of many people and some shift in the universe.

In a meeting this morning we were talking about our process getting sober, and SR will always be right there! Dee, Venus, SoberCat, a few others whose names don't immediately come to mind.

It takes what it takes. For me it took time. Day eight was easier than Day seven. Eighteen months started to feel good. Five years was just a little blip in the road.

Stick it out y'all. It's worth it.

CBS, Thank you so much. Your dish looks dishy!!
NL, Thank you too.
Hev, when are you all going on vacation?

Alpine, once again, love and prayers for you. Having been through very many surgeries myself, I know it can be scary and painful. Praying that they are doing the best by you!
