Hooray. Got 28 days now. Went to see the nurse this morning and did a breath test. The air from my lungs is now back to that of a non-smoking person. No way do I want to lose that amazing progress. Pros of quitting: too many to mention. Pros of staying smoking: none.

Yes, I got another 24 hours. That's 33 days now. The UK government is offering a programme called Stoptober to people who want to quit in October. I'm definitely joining in with that.
Did I tell you I went to see the nurse about smoking on Friday? She said my breath reading was down to that of a non-smoker. She's given me a prescription for some nicotine replacement patches. I am now going to level three - the lowest level - and after a month of those I plan to go no-smoking without any patches, e-cigarettes or gum.
I will see the nurse again in two months time.
