24-Hour NO Nicotine/Smoking Club - Part 3
I watched a DVD of the Rolling Stones last night. It was great. They were smoking and it looked kind of glamorous. But they were glamorous because they are the Rolling Stones and fantastic, famous rich rock stars. The people I see smoking on the street look like smelly addicts - not glamorous and not cool. I saw a pretty girl in a short dress standing outside a club smoking last night and she just looked cold and miserable. She would have been so much more cool not smoking and enjoying herself in a nice environment.
So, it's eight full days since I smoked a cigarette. I really don't want to go back on that horrid addictive cycle again.

Endlesspatience you are doing well.
Aye the pity party started and cabin fever settling in so my addictive voice is telling me (more like requesting me) to smoke to break the boredom and ease the sadness.
I'm just accepting that nicotine is a mood altering substance. Maybe not with the drunken or euphoric effects of alcohol and pot...but why would I reach for something if it didn't change my emotions.
Doing alright...just have to work through this feeling sorry for myself...NTAP

haribo158 - so great to see you. We all understand the white knuckling thing here.
endless - doing so awesome.
wisc - I understand the plethora of feelings this time of year can bring up. I so often tend to exacerbate them in my head. Sending a prayer...
I am checking in, really don't want to smoke anymore. I am struggling with my AV pretty badly lately too (about everything) so I am sure glad everyone is still checking in over the holiday week. I will probably keep SR kinda close this week...
Looking forward to see how everyone is doing today!

Another 24 for me. 9 days till one year. I think it helps to have goals to be working towards. Be it looking forward to one day down, the first three days down, a week, a month, 2 months, 6 months, a year, etc. I love to look forward to the next milestone and take time to be proud when I get there.

Had a good night...went to eat at Culver's with a friend...showed up for an AA meeting but nobody was there to open it...glad we waited because some young guy showed up and at least we where there...but he left right away.
Had smoking urges....but really when I smelled my buddy's cigarette it smelled like acrid oil burning smell...almost like a filter burning...ick...
going to bed soon...i'm suprised how well I'm handling football games...even this year I would smoke at least half a pack within 3 hours....no more...

Hi all just checking in...wrote my list of jobs today in the run up to Christmas. Total of 16 arghhhh! then my mobile packed up so I had to dash to the phone shop to get it fixed. Onwards and upwards just ticked off job 6. Think I would be even further behind than I already am if I was still nipping out the back for cigs every hour or so. Im in for another 24 hours....good luck everyone
7 days til one year, so no smoking for me today.
Hope everyone has a smoke-free, but very merry x-mas.
Keep your guards up. Holidays can bring different triggers than every day life. More than once I relapsed on cigs when visiting family members for the holiday that I was used to smoking with.
