Happy anniversary, Micealc--you, too, Soberhawk.
I am really tempted today to go upstairs, prop myself up with my schoolwork, and have a cigar.
I am not eating today, so I don't want to stay downstairs near the fridge. Usually when I study, I'll have a diet Dr. Pepper to accompany me--but today I'm drinking only water till dinnertime.
But you guys and your milestones are deterring me--plus the usual bad symptoms, plus that I don't want to reinforce the bad habit of studying = smoking.
But I'm still tempted because this is the least critical one to me right this second.

I just though of the perfect deterrent--I am feeling some slight congestion in my chest, and I still have to exercise! Cigars don't help me feel like exercising!
So I'll delay my exercise till later, after I've got some studying done. That way, the longer I have exercise looming ahead, the longer I won't want to smoke!

Steve- way to go!! We both know you can do this.
Amy- Glad you're making it through the cravings. It will get better soon.
Soberhawk- Excellent job on 99 days!! You're doing great!!
Gilmer- I think thoughts like "This is the least critical one to me right this second" are just AV lies. Smoking can cause many, many health problems.
I'm signing up for another 24 here. Hard to believe it's already the 18th!! Seems like it was just New Year's and now January is almost over!!

Way to go Soberhawk!!
For me, things always really got a lot better around 3 months. The things I had to watch out for after that was that I could forget how bad smoking and quitting had been and think I could have 'just one'. I lost more than one streak quit that way. Just keep your eye out for that sneaky AV!!

Another 24 for me!!
Congratulations SoberHawk!!!
I was sick, yesterday and last night, so a cigarette was the LAST think on my mind. I just looked it up, and tomorrow is 2 weeks.
Honestly, it seems like longer but only because other than the occasional cravings, it really hasn't bothered me.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy
