Cityboy, thanks for that info about the deer and nursing. I thought that might be it, but the other doe I saw with two fawns wasn't thin. I guess it's up to Nature. I wasn't really going to try to feed her.

Freedomfries, congrats on that month sober. I read that you are going to withdraw from school for now. I think that's a good call until your health stabilizes.

johnnyt53, you're in my state. Yay, someone in my time zone!

I woke up too early today. It's hours before sunrise so maybe two cups of coffee today - well, it is Friday.

For those new to sobriety, if you don't drink today you've done it right. That's really all I required of myself in early days. Eat, Sleep, Move.

If my head goes on the pillow sober tonight then tomorrow will be a good day.

Devizes, welcome. This whole thread is over-run by Brits,

I say that lovingly - they have taught me a lot. I'm just an upshot Yank.

Thanks, Bimini, maybe we Brits just have more problems than most!

Ha. I doubt it. I'm sure you've heard all the latest about how well things are going here in the U.S.

Oh, hey! You uploaded an AV image. Nice!

Great to join all of you. Keeps me grounded coming here. Less work now, more time to linger in some thoughts I so need to push away.

Thanks, Bimini, it took some doing and was my fifth choice. All the others were rejected for some reason!

Welcome, johnnyt53. Good to have you with us.

Welcome, Devizes; we love our Brits here.

Well done a month, freedomfries. Well done on taking care of your health, too. Both very good stuff.

((((Awake))). Resolve the past to the extent you can but, please, don’t stay too long there. A better life awaits you.

Welcome Devizes! Good luck this weekend.

Good to see you Awake.

When I first quit (and during all my failed attempts to quit) it seemed incomprehensible that anyone could or would go through a weekend without drinking but in a couple of months it gets easier and after 3 or 4 month it is just the new normal so for all those in early recovery it is not an endless uphill struggle, there is a crest and a downslope the other side.

I was in Bloomsbury earlier today and past Senate House. Built in the 1930s it is now part of the University of London now but during WW2 it was the HQ of the Ministry for Information and George Orwell used it for his description of the Ministry of Truth in his novel 1984.

As a Brit, I love upshot Yanks. One has taught me a lot about not drinking and other stuff: Bim - just saying 😎.

I celebrated this lovely day by taking Billie for a long walk to the store. She trots along so nicely and really enjoys her sniffing time.

If I were drinking I'd be either too drunk or too sick to walk her. Thank God those days are gone!

Good to see you matric, Tatsy!

It's Friday night. Better put some music on. Never mind the soul drummers this is worth it for the horn section break alone. Pre video days I'm afraid.
