Great thread OP, Mags.

I was definitely in a cycle - a cycle of failure.

7:00 pm - first glass of wine of many

11:00 pm - off to bed, plastered

3:00 am - wide awake with a racing heart, full of anxiety - resolving not to drink again

7:00 am - off to work with headache and nausea - resolving not to drink

11:00 am - still physically shaky and resolving not to drink

3:00 pm - feeling better - a glass of wine or two would be okay; just stop at two

7:00 pm- wine in glass and all bets off

It was my 3, 7, 11 Cycle of Doom.

Alcohol had to go forever.

That sounds just like me Leigh!
The cycle of drinking, not wearing a bra on my face lol

I hope you’re able to get home soon Freedom. Well done on staying sober.

hi Franklin and Lixie

I’ll be pretty busy this weekend so won’t get a lot of time to post, but I won’t be drinking!

Mags, your OP reminds me of the old saying.
Albert Einstein’s famous line: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

Yes, that cycle of doom sounds all too familiar.

Second day in a row I've seen a deer and her fawn in the same abandoned garden. The doe is really thin. I feel like I need to feed her. Of course I have no idea what deer eat other than grass. We have all kinds of fruit trees around my place, not to mention about 20 million fallen acorns. Seems like she would be fatter this time of year.

Chicken tostada with beans, avo, cheese, and stuff for dinner. Till mañana.

Deer love acorns. It is odd that the doe looks so thin. Chronic Wasting Disease is rather common in deer in some US states and Canada.

The doe may be a little run down from nursing her fawn. The fawn should wean off of its mother's milk soon and, especially If there are a lot of acorns, the doe should begin looking a lot better quickly. They do that at one of the local parks that has a lot of deer. In late summer, when the fawns are really nursing, the does look to be on the verge of death. Then by thanksgiving, they look fine from eating the acorns.

No, not wearing a mask made from a bra.

Thanks, CityBoy; that makes me feel better. We had a huge Pin Oak on our property up north. The tree became a late afternoon stopping and grazing place for dozens of deer in the Fall and Winter. Tons of acorns to be found. The deer always looked robust. Good to know that Bim’s doe will likely bulk up soon.

The deer assault our pear trees when they have fruit. When you leave early for work you can see the white tails bouncing away, but I'm sure they come right back.

CityBoy, the deer would assault our trees by rubbing their antlers or velvet on the trunk. Most trees recovered but some of the young trees were weakened by the experience. They loved the Leland Cypress, too; they ate to their hearts content leaving many bare areas. Deer are such gorgeous creature but the bane of landscape.

Snazzy, thanks for the blast from the past. I hadn't heard that song in years. I love Gladys Knight.

I've always had a hard time being patient but am getting better as I get older.

Count me in for another sober weekend.

I'll be hitting a month sober tomorrow. This feels bigger than the last times I've hit one month because I'm actually committed to sobriety this time after the nasty thing I said BOd to my sister. I wish there was some nice way I could celebrate but I'm stuck in the psych ward.
