Bisous...
I think they are bloody brilliant! I used to own a forerunner of those, an Alpine A610 which my then wife made me sell grrr... Former England Rugby Union Captain Will Carling used to own a Venturi.

Edit. Drive one of those in England or Ireland an no one will have heard of them.

Good evening weekender friends - I'm in!

Thank you for the thread Mags - pertinent as always. I have no intention of quitting my recovery if I can at all help it...

All is well here. I have been signed off formal alcohol counselling as a success story this week, although in practise it was completed some time ago. I will see my advisor informally as needed from now on. For the time being, while this support is offered I will gladly accept it.

I'm job hunting this week which is exciting, though I still have a few days work to do on my previous project. It will be interesting to see what comes up around here in the tech sphere as from my initial searches there is not a great deal going on locally.

Anyway I'm rambling. Prayers for your friend Leigh. Strength to you Manta. Warm wishes to all as always. Forwards.

I am sorry about your friend, Leigh. If you get a chance, you should post that story in the "Stop Smoking" thread. It might provide motivation to those trying to stop.

Morning Weekenders, I'm so sorry to read about your friend Leigh, smoking was such a normal thing to do when I was young that millions got hooked. Thank goodness it is on the decline now.

I am leaning towards your thoughts Sao re the job. I need to learn some better coping skills rather than get a different job. As I have gotten older I seem to be more anxious and struggle being around other people for sustained and long periods of time (of which a long period of time is a full day in the office!).

I talked myself out of buying wine on the way home yesterday which was hard as it was the AV that says “go on, just get one last bottle tonight and that will be your last”. Sitting here at 6:30am I am so grateful I made the right decision.

I had to cancel my day off today as there was a big meeting I couldn’t get out of and I would have had to do a couple of hours work even if I took the day off so decided I wasn’t going to waste a days holiday that I would be working half of for free. I do have next week off though and will be leaving my laptop at work so I force myself to switch off and not be tempted to log on.

I have a lot to sort next week to get a better routine, batch cook and freeze healthy meals, get out and do some exercise and re-look at my plan, journal out how I am feeling etc so I can understand what the actual problem is here and make a plan to tackle it. Thanks everyone for your kind replies, I really really appreciate each and everyone of you xx

Morning Weekenders

MantaLady, I loved when you told us of the fruit smoothies you made ready for the week, and batches of food. I wished I could be so organised. sorry you have to go in work today, hope it all goes well.

Hubby and myself are visiting my step mum today and then onto my friends. If the weather isn’t too bad we may blow some cobwebs away with a walk on the sea front....I think a paddle is out of the question though.

Forwards, all the best with your job hunting.

Have a good one , I’ll catch up later. xx

Grateful to read this thread this early morning. The urges to drink have been very strong lately. Probably because I'm in a rather dark time again in my life. But I know booze brings no relief. I'm slowly working on a plan regarding my living situation, but it takes time. Plus the fact that I have burned a lot of bridges in the past. Yet forward it is. Thank you all for listening!
