Morning Weekenders

Marty, I hope the understanding person you spoke to got your kid’s medication ordered. I had the same a few weeks ago and it can be so frustrating.

Saou, flying seemed the best option I guess, a bit quieter than the train too. Enjoy your stay (even though it’s work related) a lot colder up there.

Manta, hope you enjoyed Bloodlines and your early night.

Quiet day here today, Mr. Mags is going coarse fishing for the day so I’ll be catching up on a book I’m reading and a few chores about the house .

See you later xx

MantaLady had it right, it is the place where we take our rubbish that the council will not collect. It is called something like Hackney Recycling Centre these days but everyone still calls it the Tip. I once found an "Egg" chair that I refurbished for my eldest daughter.

I am possibly heading north to Fort William this evening.

I used to get all sorts from the tip when I was strapped for cash and needed stuff for my house. Once got a bunch of Wharfdale speakers and took out the bass and mid range from them all to make 2 fully working speakers. You can’t do that nowadays.

We’re meant to have some breaks in the snow clouds this afternoon and get a few sunny spells. If that happens the plan is to go for a long walk. It’s started snowing for now but we’ll see. Feeling a bit anxious today and not really sure why. I think it’s partly because Monday is approaching super fast, too fast in fact. x

MantaLady, I hope your anxiety passes soon, are you cooking anything today for lunch? Going for a swim?

The sun has come out here, it’s still cold but looks lovely.

Manta ~ I grew up with a dad who built everything, including a house. So there was a lot of rubbish, and we used to go on these awesome trips to the tip. I just loved it....you could actually walk around and find treasures, like your speakers. I don't even remember it smelling....Ijust remember the seagulls. And I think it was just me and dad....no one else was interested in going.

And as you said, you can't do that anymore. Great memories. s

However, very unhappy this morning.....bad night, no sleep.

I already feel better.
And I bet I will sleep well tonight.
Just need to get through the day productively after getting up at 5.....no idea how so many SRs (and lots of peeps) do that every day.

How are you feeling asthma-wise dear Mags? s xx ❤️

Good morning/afternoon, all.

MLD, I hope that your medicine issue had been successfully resolved. How frustrating that must have been.

Lots of love to all.

The medication issue is solved, but it took more calls and frustration, stretching into the evening. Finally this morning I was able to see online that the prescriptions were transferred from the clinic to the mail-order pharmacy we must use with our insurance. They are in the process of being filled. It was ridiculous that it took so much effort to make this happen.

Suze, I’m ok thanks. The injections are helping immensely. 5 am ! It’s so much better then, especially as we’re getting the lighter mornings.

Marty, pleased the meds problem has been resolved. What a palaver for you!

Glad it’s all sorted MLD! x.

I am cooking this aft Mags, I am making a batch of coconut, sweetheart cabbage and chickpea curry which is much nicer than it sounds haha!! It’s absolutely beautiful outside albeit flipping cold so should really go for a walk but just can’t drag myself out there. It’s so cosy at home and I am lucky to have amazing views over the moors from my living room.

Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight Venus. And yes, the tip wasn’t smelly from what I recall but I got a chest of drawers, bookcase and fold down dining table from there, took them home and sanded them down and revarnished them and they did me well for years!! Good memories x

It’s sounds good, MantaLady. I like vegetable curries, though I’m not very adventurous. I did buy some tins of jackfruit to try in a curry. Not used it yet! Enjoy your cooking.

Good Morning Weekenders

Saou, glad you arrived at your destination safely. You thinking of climbing Ben Nevis while you’re there?

Cold and wet here but no snow. My brother in law and his mates went walking on Derbyshire hills (Mam Tor) yesterday and it was thick snow, looked beautiful.

See you later. The new thread is coming up in around 4 hours.
