Weekender Thread 23-27 August 2018
Oh my gosh thanks everyone. I felt so good reading your encouragements. I went to yoga which helped a huge amount, there’s lots of meditation in this class. I was in that state where I was buzzing from tapping into the zone, whatever they call it. I don’t know but I know when I’m there. Then I went to “my bar,” to see my old friend play trumpet. And everyone said hey it’s been a long time and I said hey I quit drinking I’ll have a ginger ale. And it’s not like I didn’t think about drinking but I will say, it was as easy as that and honestly no one cared if I drank or not. It was a lovely night and I made it to bed sober. Thanks for all the wise words, and Dee, thank you for offering that spin on things I am a huge fan of finding new perspectives. There’s a lot of clarity there.
I’ve been learning to go against my nature and find a more yin middle path. So far I haven’t really demonstrated it but I think the concept is gelling

Good to see you Mrs Lecter and congratulations on reaching 7 months sober, brilliant.
VMan I am going to be basically chilling today as I have more or less been at work for two weeks straight. I am going to put in some metal skirting "boards" in my kitchen. They are already cut to size so it shouldn't take long (I have actually had them for a couple of months already - just lazy) I will be meeting some friends and taking in the Carnival this weekend.
Edit. Just went outside for my morning walk/jog - it's cold! Just came back in for a sweatshirt. Don't leave just yet summer! I'm not ready.

Good morning weekenders!
It's a lot cooler here this morning, I think I can feel Autumn in the the air
Another lovely photo Vman, thanks. Looks like a great place to hike and I bet it's quite therapeutic.
For those struggling, hang in there - it will pass.
Have a good day wherever you may be.
John

Good Morning everyone. Just checking in here before I begin my work day and then head out of town to visit friends overnight. I'll be reading even if I can't post. Thank you all for being here!
Happy Friday everyone! This will be my first sober weekend in some time. Am looking very forward to it! I expect to have some serious drinking thoughts this evening on my way home. Am all ready for them. Will see you folks tonight!

What a gorgeous picture, Vman!
Congratulations, MrsLecter!
And UGH, PJ! I'm so sorry for the intense nerves, the big mentally bracing yourself--and now cancellation!
