Greetings, Weekenders.
Way to power through the weekend, all.
Suze, I hope you hear something from MidnightBlue.
Snuf, hope your dreams are beautiful tonight.
Bim, my Mom made ice coffee like that every day of our hot no A/C summers. The summer that she was pregnant, she swore that she would give birth to a coffee bean. My sister and I were young enough to wonder if that was really a possibility.
The Serenity Prayer was prayed often in early times and I read this often!
Desiderata - Words for Life
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Thanks for the reminder Leigh I’d forgotten about this. I need to get it in a big poster for my home ❤️❤️❤️

I had no children either, I was too busy drinking.... but I have a teenage stepdaughter (since she was 8) and hopefully now that I’m sober I can set a much better example for her... Luckily she loves me ❤️ I managed to hide my drinking for a long time but teenagers are pretty switched on and I’m so glad I’m no longer sneaking around and hiding bottles of wine... the future looks a lot brighter now ❤️❤️❤️
Hmmm. It's late again, 11.40pm. The temperature is much more acceptable tonight but unfortunately Saoutchik Towers is suffering noise pollution from a nearby house party. On a Tuesday night I ask you! Meh.
The future is looking very bright for me....I do love this....all of this commitment and madness and determination to find this life....this REAL life that I missed out on...
Nick's ex told him how much she appreciated what we did yesterday....and the kids must have said something nice about me, because she sent compliments.
Life has some amazing curves....twists and turns that can take us to magical places.
It is SO worth the effort.

Get out the earplugs, Vman!
It’s going to be a long night of giggling and squealing!
Suze, it is wonderful that you’ve got a nice relationship with Nick’s ex. That makes life pleasant for everyone. You’re a good woman!

Why are they called hotdogs anyway?
Do they smell like a hot dog?
Do they look or taste like a dog that is hot?
Probably a close contender here is snag on bread with dead horse. A lot of small mum and dad fund raisers for soccer teams are doing with this combo- snag is sausage, dead-horse..sauce.
Always white bread (some 'fancy ' folk have wholemeal)- no butter
And for the gourmet- onions.
Keeps the trouble and strife (wife) happy so she does not get on the dog and bone (phone)
