Youngsters seem to love the more processed foods for some reason, especially boys I think. I used to love those Kraft dairylea "cheese" triangles as a kid. That and Angel Delight.

Probably a close contender here is snag on bread with dead horse. A lot of small mum and dad fund raisers for soccer teams are doing with this combo- snag is sausage, dead-horse..sauce.
Always white bread (some 'fancy ' folk have wholemeal)- no butter
And for the gourmet- onions.
Keeps the trouble and strife (wife) happy so she does not get on the dog and bone (phone)
Hahah thanks Phoenix, so true! And made me laugh
Snags and dead horse on white bread. See them selling them to fund raise for various causes outside Bunnings hardware every weekend. And some of the gourmet fancy ones add mustard (yuk) as well as onions!

Forget that crap!

I had BBQ pulled chicken tonight with corn on the cob with butter, plus the MOST DELICIOUS FRIED OKRA I’ve ever had, plus delicious cornbread with actual corn kernels (sorry, Trach—the cornbread was sweet, but that’s the way I like it)!

I had a bratty, screeching 2-y-o grandson at the table—and I was this close to throttling him—but that good square meal put us both in a spectacular mood.

Then my daughter bought a carry-out meal to take home for her husband, and he’s on a diet—thus I made off with ANOTHER PIECE OF CORNBREAD!

I don’t think I would feel any finer if I won the lottery!

Before I left for the restaurant my brain was fried—but the food really soothed the savage beast!!

I totally agree Gilmer! That sounds WAY tastier than sausages! I’ve never been a fan of sausages anyway.... I’ve never had cornbread but it sounds yummy, I LOVE corn on the cob

There are lots of sausages I like—but just the way you guys described them—I suppose my palate is just too sensitive...

One of the deep eternal questions that puzzle mankind:

“Okra: Food or Snot?

I vote for food, especially when fried with a good batter!

It’s great in gumbo, too.

I just googled okra. I have never seen it before! I’m going to try and find some, I have no idea if they even grow/sell it here. Or what to do with it if/when I find some....

Get some fish fry batter mix and deep fry it!

Maybe Trach has a good homemade batter recipe.

Oh, gosh—I love oysters, too.

What does that tell you?

I better hope someone doesn’t sneak up on me with a camera when I think nobody’s watching!

So I googled it too...
And it seems that gumbo is basically snotty stew?

I think I’ll try the fried okra first, it looks a bit like a zucchini...

I visited the US and Canada several years ago. I had a really lovely (but not long enough) trip, I loved Florida. And Toronto (well I loved Niagara Falls and the Toronto zoo) :-)
But I didn’t like the bread, it was way too sweet! Must have sugar in it, too weird for me. I like bread to be savoury not sweet
