Wow, Manta. You are flying Emirates business class!!!
My home welcoming has been not so warm so far:
- I have a court notice in my mail. What is weird it has my address but a different name. I think I should pay a post office a visit.
- The wall of one of my teeth fell apart, so I have to schedule a dentist appointment and it's not gonna be cheap.
Home sweet home...

Awesome Mantalady! Business class should be relaxing and less stressful, especially these long haul flights. Good to know you have connectivity and hope to see your posts daily.
All, I am like feeling great so far. No cravings, no AV anywhere. I went to grocery store and saw folks stocking up craft beer. Still zero interest - went to the juice section and got a local lemonade. Wonder what happened to me.
Planning to go for a run later after work is done. Actually, running seems to give a better quality high

Checkin in peeps. Glad to hear everyone's plans. Sober weekend ahead - make a steak dinner tonight for my wife, spend the weekend with her and our newborn, get to the gym, maybe a flea market. Simple is as sober does.
Sorry about your tooth MidnightBlue.
Crazy Golf time. My part of London is party central especially during the long summer days. I will pass lots of places full of young people having their first drink of many over the weekend. It would be nice if we spent more money educating (not scaring) schoolchildren about socialising and drink/drugs and a bit less on booze promotions. Then there might be fewer casualties on the night and less long term damage. OK i'm off my soapbox.
Have a grrreat evening Weekenders.

Sooo here comes the weekend.....
No real big plans but I am off from work for 3 days. Tomorrow is a UFC fight which my husband and I enjoy & usually we go to Buffalo Wild Wings to go watch. Now my husband will probably part take in drinking. I will sit there with my club soda w/lime trying to enjoy the scenery.
This is going to be interesting. Any other advise on what to drink besides club soda? I am a diabetic so Pepsi is out of the question. Go figure, I wasn't worried about Diabetes when I was drinking beer. Silly me.
Thanks.

LivinInLV...I know we can't avoid places that serve alcohol forever, but I advise not going there if you don't feel strong about it. There are loads of non alcoholic options, but sugar filled is not a diabetics friend...BUT NEITHER is alcohol, so don't use that as an excuse. I am a diet soda drinker, I know it is not for all...also I like unsweetend iced tea...MY advice if you are going is to focus on the FOOD choices and think of the beverages as something to quench thirst rather than entertain! Water with lemon is surprisingly refreshing! Make your plans according to what looks like FUN rather than a battle this weekend.
Hello all...I am IN. Thanks for the thread. Weekends can be tough. I am a teacher and off for the summer so it seems like an eternal weekend. Which is great but a hard time to begin my quit. Still Friday seems to be a bit of a trigger, internal permission because it's "normal" to drink on the weekend. I have a technician working on my irrigation system, when he leaves I am heading to the gym. A much healthier Friday night plan than heading to get some vodka and getting a couple drinks down before my husband comes home. We have pizza every Friday night here...so I will focus on that reward rather than a drink. Stocked up with non alcoholic beverages to enjoy. Looking forward to my Saturday with my hubby without pretending not to be a little hung over...we usually head out to hike or run. He is a marathoner, I am working on the 5K, so we head out together but do our own thing. Will be so much better feeling healthy. This is day 4 and I am feeling much healthier.

Hi everyone! Day 8 for me, and I really am craving a drink. As if it would be only one. It wouldn't. I am triggered by the kind of day that I would usually justify drinking to myself: very productive week, perfect weather to sit outside. (I mean, really any excuse would do for me. )So I came here to post instead. I'm afraid I'll talk myself into it. But then I think it through and know how sorry and miserable I will be if I drink.
I am so grateful for this forum and all of you.

Welcome to Weekenders LivininLV and Lizajane!
Good to see you halvso
Here is why I do not post pics from Crazy Golf, it's too dark. It's fun though and it stops me from missing booze on a Friday evening even though booze is available.
Edit. It is nearly midnight and so Saoutchik Towers raises its drawbridge for another night. Have a grrreat sober evening.

Halvso...stay strong. Best way for me to NOT drink is to do something else. So posting is awesome. Plan out what you will do, eat and drink tonight. I am going to watch a movie...and tomorrow...I WILL remember all of it.
So far, so good for me. It’s a Wine o’clock and I am reading posts instead of grabbing the wine bottle .
D11 for me. It’s only 6:37 PM here in Chicago land and I’m planning an early evening. Reading a magazine. A novel.
My twin 17-year-olds are on a jet with their father to California for vacation and it’s just me and my dog.
Very thankful for some alone time.
If this is your bewitching hour on a Friday night right now I pray for your strength.
AV Is a fleeting feeling, it’s not you and doesn’t control your purse, wallet, fingers, mouth, or.....your......soul......
