*Ring Ring* Weekender August 12th Part 2
.
The Year after Woodstock, The Festival Express Train went across Canada; playing various Cities. There was some unrest at Venues, and the Tour was considered a Financial bust.
Concert Film stayed 'in the Can' for several Decades. After Legal wrangling, Investors provided Money for Editing. Scenes like Jerry Garcia and Janis jamming after Hours on the Train make for good watching. Plenty of Booze flowing [but not in the vetted Clip linked below], so the Film is not for everyone. Superior Film quality for that period.
Here's one from Janis on that Tour...
- 'Tell Mama' ~ Janis Joplin ~ Live -

Checking in for accountability.
The meeting was ok, glad I went if nothing else to see a couple guys that are my sober homies and we care about each other a lot.
I just got home and I have some leftover beef and rice thing, it's always good for me to have a very full tummy when my mind is squirrelly. I also like my food extremely hot so I blasted it in the microwave.
Also, I got to pull fresh hot sheets and pajamas out of the dryer and that feels fantastic!
I'm safe, I'm sober and I had a wonderful day off. Yes, I had a moment or two of melancholy due to life being life.. or maybe my acceptance struggles with life being life. But either way, I'm sober and so therefore I win.
I even finished the book I started yesterday and started a new one at lunch that I'm liking so far. So I got something to do while I wait for sleep to come.
xoxo

I was awakened by a horrible case of heartburn. I haven't had it in a long time, maybe once since I quit drinking. I got paranoid I was having a heart attack! But no. Took some Maalox. now I'm awake at 2:50. Hope I can get back to sleep.
Good morning everyone.
I recall seeing an excellent documentary on Woodstock, made by, among others, the great Martin Scorsese. That Janis Joplin doc. is on my IMDB watchlist Bim.
I watched a horrendously bad B-Movie post apocalyptic horror last night called Stake Land. I really liked it. Yes, Mrs B went to bed early.
In work now as the sun is splitting the sky and burning the remnants of any overnight fog.
I wish you all a great day ahead.

Morning!
Dee, you just reminded me of my
first GD concert at Madison Square Garden
1982. Unreal. Then there were the 4th row seats
for the JGB at the Capitol theater.
Getting ready for blast off to NY state.
Hopefully I'll have a signal at the house.
have a good day, everyone.

It went fine and I was tired afterward. I slept so well last night. Still a bit low on energy this morning.
The pizza was awesome!!!! I love this stuff. Hey LadyBlue... You go to Otto Pizza? The sauce and cheese and sausage are so tasty!
Now back to the diet.
I learned a lot about myself in this. I never fasted for 28 hours before. With the timing on things that's what it wound up being. It felt good to exercise true constraint over food and not feel overwhelmed or so hungry I could not stand it. Maybe that will give me a new way to get the weigh where I want it. I can be VERY compulsive and in the moment with stuff that the consequences seem unimportant. HA go figure. That the very definition of addiction.
In any case I shall look at food and my strength over it a bit differently.
OK... Excited to get to work. Much to do. Fun stuff this week. (NERD!)
Have a great day!
And really good to see nons, LB and BigS show up. Never to late!

Good morning everyone!
Ken, I haven't tried Otto but may have to now. Our standard is Pizza Joint, their sauce seems to be the best. If you want some of the best pizza in the world the St Peter's Bizarre this weekend would have been the place to be. Although, just recently got a flyer in the mail about Portland Pie Company and am thinking about giving them a try too. Friday night is cheat night on the diet (ahem, lifestyle change, have to keep reminding myself!) so this may be in order this week.
Loving the Woodstock posts. My favorite era of music. I have friends that do a takeoff on Woodstock every year on their farm up in the boonies here. Nothing that I could ever attend at this point because, well, it's very Woodstockish Everyone camps out in their back field and in the barn every type of musical instrument is set up. It's one big jamfest. My favorite was the year someone brought a didgeridoo. He had actually done a walkabout in Australia and he ended up making a CD that I bought and have around here somewhere. I'll have to look for it as I heard that it's good to use for meditation. Anyway, this festival was pretty laid back. Lots of weed being passed around, and of course, alcohol. Not a place I'd want to be for a while. Some really fond memories of the spirit of the gathering though. It was the epitome of hippieville which is my tribe for sure.
