Mesa, I'd swear you were a child of the 80s (or early 90s) sometimes.

Yeah I'm gonna lay around reading and swimming for a few days.
It's in the area of BC where all our famous Canadian weed is grown, I don't smoke pot, but it's a really chilled out, laid back area.
Isolated- there's not even police in the area I'm going ha
Lots of hippies and artists there.

One summer I was there and the girl that worked at the cafe in town asked me on a date!
There was something going on with the sky- meteor shower if I remember correctly; she asked me to come to the lake with her and watch it on a date

Oh yeah!! I got a new pen pal too!
Well I think I do- he hasn't written back yet- but I'm sure he will; he doesn't have anything better to do haha
He's at angola in Louisiana- I've always been fascinated with that prison, so who better to ask about it than a resident.
He's 32- he got into a fight at a party when he was 18 and the guy got hit wrong, fell, hit his head and died.
My new pen pal got life- for real life, he'll die there.
So no fighting everyone!

I was gonna write a Canadian stuck in bang kwang ( big tiger) the famous prison outside Bangkok- also known as the ' Bangkok hilton'
I was told that the guys there get really homesick and would love pics of home and to hear things like what sports teams are winning etc.

SoberP ~

We had a massive Party for our 25th Wedding *Whatever*. A Drummer Pal and I worked up the iPod-based Music List. A then-20-something commented 'Boy, kind of a lot of '80s Music, ain't there'?That one had Legs, and we still laugh about it. So, your Comment was spot on. Level 42. Talk Talk. Howard Jones. Missing Persons. Love it all!

One memorable NY Eve Party, while that Song I just posted played, I was on my Back on a piece of Cardboard. A Pal was rotating me around on the Floor manually while holding my Feet up in the Air. My kinda Break Dancing!

Here's Le Poopet on The Perseids, Jen. I saw a few Meteors last Night about 22:00 Hours.

Day is dragging on. Went for a run over the lunch hour. It was hot, but not too painful, considering I haven't done any exercise other than yard work for the last few weeks. I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow.

@Jen, I gotta ask as a relative newb to the thread, what's up with the prison/prisoner thing? You've got me curious. My wife works in the Wisconsin prison system, so I've got some familiarity with the way those institutions work.

I'm a criminology major U75- I started writing out of curiosity and I like writing letters.
I tried to get real life pen pals online but they actually have lives so it usually just fades out.
The inmates are stuck there and have nothing better to do; so I have a captive audience.
I get an interesting perspective on crime too- I got walked through a bank robbery from the robbers viewpoint- from when the idea first went through his head- right to the very end when he was caught
It was really fascinating.
I have a mass murderer too- but I'll never ask what happened- I don't want to know really.
We talk about everything but.

Just a hobby I suppose

I also get tales of gunfights, extortions, fraud, drug deals gone bad.
All kinds of stuff!
They call me too, I visited one- it was alright, we played cards all day and ate vending machine food and talked.
I'm gonna try to get on Angola's visiting list too.

The one year in a million when London wasn't cloudy - 2010 maybe the year, I am not certain.

I have never forgotten lying on the grass in Shoreditch Park watching the Perseids shooting stars - magical

Bailed out of work early today, because I skipped lunch. I'm exhausted and it seemed like too much work to leave my desk at lunchtime. So I'm on my deck at home. It's nice to be back. I know I was only gone 4 days, but it felt like forever. Tonight my ex is taking our son out to eat and play bingo, so I don't have to feed anyone but myself. Picked up a little steak at the grocery store. Just going to have that, and a big salad with a few tomatoes my plant on the deck finally produced. Perfect evening, in my book.
