I'm so jealous of mesa and jen with their camping things
Nice pic mesa!
Well I'm all caught up and added absolutely nothing of substance as usual haha.
I'm the pointless reality tv show of the weekender thread! Ha
Ven and tetra are the history channel.
I'll try to be more like that- but it doesn't look hopeful haha

My my you all have been busy today.
Public service announcement:
For your safety and those around you, if you have a flat and have to use the "donut" spare tire. Please realize that they are designed to get you to someplace to have the tire fixed and shouldn't be driven over 50 mph.
I was driving down the highway today and and there is this guy doing 70 plus mph beside me with a donut spare on and he kept winding up next to me.
It's been a rough day all around but I've come through unscathed.
Going to try and catch up now.

Great opener, Weasel. I am also at the beginning of a new decade (my 40's) and I often find myself wishing I didn't waste the years between 25-35. My voice tells me that I'll never be able to emotionally recover from that train wreck. But you know what? Screw that. I'm not done either!
I often spend a lot of time wondering what others think of me. It's been a lifelong distraction for me. Recently, I've taken a break from posting on many online forums and stayed away from facebook - and I've noticed it's been good for my internal compass. I've never been the type to "keep up with the Joneses", regardless of how well or terrible things go for me. And it's nice to be back in that headspace.
I just got back home after 2 weeks in the USA. Got some biz taken care of, and most importantly I spent quality time with all of my family members. I feel refreshed and ready to quietly relax and enjoy the simple things here. I have my own pad, nice scenery and entertainment and a sober mind to use and enjoy. What more does a guy want? Looking forward to settling back into my happy routine - and sleeping in my own bed tonight. Simple pleasures rule!

Welp ~
I'll give your Ideas on moving in here all the consideration they deserve!
I told MesaMate that these 80 Acres would be the poifect spot to start 'The Mesa Compound For Wayward Cheerleaders'. Civic-minded Dude that I am. Couldn't get her to sign on, for some silly reason. O'Well, another grand idea of mine bites the dust.
True story... Some Mennonites down the Road are making 'Doomsday Pods' out of Shipping Containers to hole up in when SHTF. They advise burying them with a fresh Air Inlet sticking up. Problem is, the Roof won't support Dirt. Only the Steel Corners are really strong on Shipping Containers. Whoopsie!
In ~5 Minutes - at 19:00 Hours Mountain Time - our local non-Commercial, Hip_Eye Mountain Radio Station broadcasts live Music from the Park in Ridgway CO. Former Home of Dennis Weaver [of Gunsmoke fame]. Dennis was into Earthship Homes, and lived in one there. This Big City Band sounds like it'll kick it hard. Usually a ~1.5 Hour Live Broadcast or so. Click on the 'Listen Live' Icon on the Webpage top right.
- KVNF.org -
Last detail before we bore everyone silly, Sober P.. 500 and 900 Watt Cooktop Burners = 1,700 and 3,060 BTUs, respectively. Slip into something comfy while Cooking because those low BTUs levels will make for mighty leisurely Cooking Times! Another Reason that Propane rocks it... Beside a proper RV 3 Burner Cooktop/Oven, I've got a portable 2 Burner Propane Cooktop for inside/outside use. A Gift. $50-, tops.
EDIT: Tech Difficulties prevent the Park Music Broadcast tonight. Bummer. Last Week, a slow 'Net Connection made for lots of 'stutter', and tedious listening. Guess they couldn't get that problem fixed...

I really like your post, bigS. You really know how to put gratitude in terms that make sense to me. And I still want to visit your area of the world. I'm still thinking of where to move.
Jen, can I be the cooking channel of the weekenders thread?
You guys, I sent Jen a link last night to a cooking demo I did on tv before, and I was really tipsy on camera. It was like 9 am and they had made a ton of cocktails for the demo. It would never have occurred to me to drink but the host handed me one to say cheers and I probably slurped down about three margaritas in twenty minutes.
Off to the MF races, you know how it used to be!
I didn't even really work there, but my friends owned the place and thought I would be a good choice on camera... specifically bc their chef didn't speak English womp womp, and I have a background in regional Mexican cuisine.
I ask ppl if they can tell that I was tipsy but they can't. I was in that lovey dovey friendly stage. I can see where for normies a drink really does take the edge off. What a luxury!
For me a drink takes the edge off, too. It also takes the driving privileges off, my clothes off, my manners off, my financial acumen off, my will to live off etc etc
I finally showered, and now I'm headed to a couple of aa meetings.
Love you guys! xoxo

went back out and worked until 815 PM... figured the trash folks are coming in the morning so I cleared out a bed of pretty much everything, dug out some bulbs and it's ready for mulch tomorrow...
thanks for the comments, I figured I would show the 'finished' (almost) product since I had been posting progress...
tomorrow car to dealer for inspection and oil change, the costco to stock up a few things - she was whining leaving for work cause there were no drinks to take... wah! I treated myself to a big dish of tin roof ice cream - it was dinner... after I drank another 16 oz glass of water...
keep on keepin on folks... I like flannel sheets except for the collection of 'fuzz' and lint - not worth it to me... cotton sheets are fine if you gotta good thread count - Trach will tell you all about thread count...
good night
thanks for the song Brynn - very cool, so was John Denver
