Hey! I missed the oatmeal discussion. I like oatmeal. Heart healthy if you don't gob too much butter in it. We always had butter and brown sugar.

Brain, you're so cute! Nice pic.

Got home from my parent's about 5 and didn't do much until 6:30. Washed the floors, folded laundry, put laundry away. Had kids work on math workbooks which they should have been doing all summer. Mean mom but three months off and they forget stuff. Especially math.

Right now I'm just relaxing and deciding what to do. Maybe read a bit. Dad going to the doctor tomorrow. We'll see what they have to say. He's pretty weak and miserable.

So, time to relax more. I've still been procrastinating on a writing project I started. List unmanageable aspects of drinking. Hard to remember that all at once anymore.

See you all in the morning. Tetra, come on here more during the day if you're down. Weekenders during the week really helps me sometimes. And Behan, good job on the bed & breakfast. Sounds lovely

I'm with Della on the coffee, bacon and eggs..... Mmmmm!

Kind of a flat day. I was off work but didn't have a huge spark to do much. And now I'm feeling guilty I didn't do anything.

I think I'll take a hot shower and make tea to fool myself that I'm tired from a long day of accomplishing stuff, ha!

Morning everyone,

I like oatmeal too, would usually eat it as muesli. Recently I have been forcing myself to eat Bran for 3 days a week, good for fibre but a chore.

BigSomb - is there anyone else in your complex who feels the same way as you? There is strength in numbers. I did wonder about your mechanic guy when he was so quick to say that you needed a new engine as modern V6's and V8's rarely distort due to overheating. Also a straightforward replacement engine is not a huge job - a month is ridiculous

Ruby, i'm sure the unmanageable aspects of drinking will come to you and hopefully the W'ender folk will chip in. I would say being physically unable to function is the worst, we are both in our fifties now (only just in your case) and struggling through another hangover is no longer possible

I have just phoned a friend and said I would skip the Notting Hill Carnival this year. I think with the whole party vibe thing it might be better to avoid many hours of temptation

It helps that the weather forecast is for lots of rain (shame for everyone that is taking part or going).

So it's back to the Lancia

Morning all ,
bank holiday monday here in the UK , last hurrah before christmas .

I need to sit down and attend to my tax affairs so things can be worked out and submitted for december by my bean counters .. bleurgh ! i feel a 10 ton weight starting to weigh on me …
such things always feel worse in the procrastination phase rather than actually dealing with em .. thats what i keep telling myself anyhow .

Another cup of coffee and then …. and then …

good morning ,

m

Morning everyone!

Busy work week ahead. Then we have our holiday thread starting. Labor Day here in the states and it's the last big party weekend of the summer. So I will start the weekender on Thursday normal time. Hope it helps people over the hump of the holiday the following Monday.

I have a 5 day weekend coming up!

I so enjoyed going to the beach this weekend I plan on going again next weekend.

Want to get mor exercise in if I can. I have been slacking and I feel it.

Not quite myself today. Let's try and turn that around.

Oatmeal... Blah!

Cream of wheat!!!

I think I have a 5 day weekend too. Would probably be a good time to finish my porch before I hop onto something else. I have a little problem finishing things!

Marty

I fall into that hippie category haha. That being said I have a very clean home. For an antiseptic cleaner I use white vinegar and a few drops of tea tree. I use lemons for any greasy bits in the kitchen and I use bicarbonate soda on any lime scale or anything that's tough to shift.
I use the same thing down my sinks once a week - bicarbonate with a litre of boiling water.

As ruby said, scrubbing is required but it's doable!

In less than 3 hours I got my first bite on craigslist...
Now to start sorting and listing more stuff. Looks like a full time job for a while.

Decided to splurge and have coffee with my oats this morning - and pure raw honey with raspberries.

It's raining here on this bank holiday. I went to a meeting this morning which was nice but got completely drenched on the way home which was refreshing!

How is everyone's Monday going?

Good morning everyone... hope you are off to a Marvelous Monday Morning!

Got off to an early start this morning feeling great. My sister is coming to visit for a week - should be a fabulous time. I haven't seen her for one year.

Good morning everyone! Jane, getting drenched always makes me laugh for some reason. It can't be helped. I'm glad your meeting was good.

Sao, maybe check out that installation at Covent Garden if you want to break routine but don't care to go to Notting Hill? I think that's probably a good idea not to go this year. And hangovers are truly physically wretched.

Good luck Brain with your Craigslist successes. That's exciting.

Another day in the trenches. I'm going to attempt to make mine a five day weekend but I'm betting we don't have the staffing available to do that since I'm asking last minute. If I do, a trip to the beach one last time.

Mecanix, I always find that just diving into the unpleasant task of tax prep works best. Get it over with.

I'm going to have to start preparing for return to school. Next Tuesday by this time everyone should be dressed and ready to walk out the door. We're all still in pajamas after just waking up.

Weas, hang in there. You can do this despite being out of your comfort zone.
