Hi Had -
I would think of those tests as a part of the healing of body, mind and spirit, as a puzzle piece, just a small part of the big picture which is your new life with 19 days sober! Congrats on the 19 days, Stay strong!

I have been feeling very ill (day 19) today. I am wondering if some of the exercise that I've been doing (going to the gym everyday) has caused my body to release toxins into my bloodstream that have been there for a long time. Does anybody know anything about this? I actually feel aweful. For the blood tests I've been fasting, controlling my diet and exercising.

I literally feel very ill today. I'm hoping this is part of my bodies way of cleansing.

If you're fasting, it could be a blood sugar issue.

Feeling a bit better. Waiting for results from blood test #2.
Blood test #1 was clear from Hep C / HIV etc.

But there was an issue, not cancer. I don't really want to go into detail on that but we can say it wasn't a good thing.

Was a bit sick for the last couple days.

I have zero interest in drinking, even a beer / mixed drink.
So from a relapse perspective right now my risk is low because I feel so worried about my health.

My sleeping has been improving over the last couple of days too. Not as much wake / insomnia etc.

22 day checking in.
Nothing to update except that I am sober, sleeping better.

I've been spending some of the booze money I've been saving on family activities such as going to the museum.

You have more time and money available when you're not hung over all the time.

Nice going hms. A little extra money in the pocket was an unexpected benefit of sobriety that I had never considered.

You're doing great, keep at it.

Day 23 check in
Yesterday I got a twist as I had a drinking urge.
I was quick to quash it by stacking up my reasons to quit.

Funny how your mind can suddenly try to justify the action when things go your way.

I've read something's about urge surfing and 'taming the beast' to quieten the AV (addictive voice) in the mind.
Maybe this could also benefit you HMS.
Congrats on continuing sobriety

Have a bit of an issue. I have a "social" work related function that I have ti attend and there
Will be alcohol there.

I am planning to just drink soda water and explain that I have to drive etc.

I don't want to drop the "I don't drink" bomb because these people know me and would just laugh at that. It would make them push to make me drink etc. So it is best if I just avoid the issue.

Any creative ideas?
