Lots of it sometimes. And it sometimes tugs at our hearts. We however need to remind ourselves of one simple thing. When it comes to alcohol, we can't control our consumption. My other fellowship has a saying... One is too many and a thousand is never enough.
Time for a first step again Christine

Christing,
Keep trying! Never give up on yourself and this sobriety deal.
I hope and pray you will find a sponsor you can identify with - no frills.
As for staying on step 1 for a year, that is bull ****-ie. Some people have done step 1 and 2 by the time they enter the AA door. I did, and I'm at day 43 on my first try at the AA way (as opposed to the My Way) to stop drinking.
Keep at it, friend! Keep finding ways to work and re-work (renew??) steps 1 - 12. I admire your efforts to do the steps. That reminds me to re-visit the list today and see where I could use some work. Thanks!

Hi Christine,
There is a lot of truth to "People, Places and Things".
Especially in the beginning of your recovery, because you don't have any clear direction. I have had to spend less and less time with good friends because they drink and if thats the only thing I have in common with them, then I have to let them go. My sobriety comes first, there are definetly a lot of other things that you can do with your life without drinking!
