RACCOON UPDATE:
The "Ro-pel" did not work. That stinkin' raccoon must have taken it as a challenge, because he brought in reinforcements last night. They made SIX PILES. SIX!
I am not making this up. I never knew raccoons made poop shrines, or whatever the heck they're doing. Beezy, isn't your husband a forest ranger or something? Does he know anything about raccoon deterrents? I'm not ready to build them a little outhouse yet...

I am on the ultram and it sure does make a difference but I don't get that euphoric buzz from it so I am glad to have some relief and not having to worry about abusing my meds...do not want to ever go there again. I will have 5 months on Nov 1st....that is the longest I have ever gone and I owe alot of it to my friends here....I do not attend NA though I read from the text, I do see an addiction specialist weekly and may go twice a month after my next visit... I will see what she says....so I am grateful to have this support from all of you because we are in this together, it is hard and sometimes I do want just give up and give in...but i come here and I see all these women working hard to make a better life for themselves and their families and I am reminded...i am trying to do the same thing.....I feel lucky to have you all around for support....and I just wanted to say Thank you ...and bless you all...for you are angels !!!!!

Oh Beezy! You have made me cry this morning! My morning was not real good! I can't even tell you why... I just felt yucky! And then I read your post, and everything you said is so true! I have lots of respect for all of my friends here! Yall are wonderful, and have each helped me sooo much! I love yall!

I am sore all over today after my yoga class last night. Isn't yoga supposed to be relaxing? During some of the poses yesterday, I thought my head was going to explode. And today, my muscles are stiff and my joints are crackling. I guess I must be loosening up. I must say that taking a class like yoga really keeps my mind off of drinking though.
I also walked 3 miles with the dog. I'm hoping to do this every single day. I keep visualizing my body healing after the years of abuse and do I really want to poison it again? NO!!!

Candy...I love yoga and Pilates...and walking my dog...but with my knee i can't and I am starting to feel my muscles get flabby....my poor dog eveytime i come outside he's like "let's go momma ".....
yoga really helps me clear my mind.....your body will get used to the poses and soon you will not be sore...I used to get migraines and after I started doing yoga they went away....stay strong ...your an inspiration ....

So you do Pilates? Wow! At the beginning of last school year, I got a Pilates DVD & book and decided I was going to do it every day. Well, the first day about killed me--it looked like it would be so easy, and that video instructor just did it like, NO PROBLEM, but it's HARD! At least it was for me! I gave up after 3 days. (Such a wimp, huh?) I do love nice, long walks with the dogs, though.

I just got both the kids I babysit down for a nap and my 2 kids are at school....so I am gonna sneak a nap in too....I should fold the laundry and do the dishes...but...I'm not....
Yes jane I love pilates...get through the first week and you'll be hooked....I feel the pounds coming on now that I can't do it...oh well...that will give me a goal once my knee is cleared by my ortho for exercise in a couple months,,,I will just have to embrace my new curves... I have noticed I gained like 6 pounds and my boobs are bigger..my A cup is looking like a B.....may have to keep these extra 6 pounds on....
but if I have gained 6 pounds in 2 weeks...lordy I will be quite curvy in a couple months...or as ayla says Fluffy ....LOL...

oh my does this place get busy in your morning.
Beezy I think the same thoughts about all these other ladies working hard to make a good life right along with me. It's nice to have all you here together.
I too think that I enjoy yoga, then end up so sore that I can't do it anymore. I have a few DVD's but hardly ever motivate myself to do them. I really need to though.
Codi, I'm so happy that you took the bull by the horns and took care of yourself. That's what they refer to as "taking action". Sobriety doesn't happen TO YOU which is what a lot of people hope for. Way to go!! I hope the courage sticks with you even if you hit another rough spot.
And of course Ayla...the big day...the big 30....wooohoooo!!!!!

It has gotten quiet this evening, lovelies!!!! Hmmmm....interesting day. I found out my husband has been drinking in the garage (of course he "promised" he wouldn't drink after the episode 10 days ago), but I found receipts for beer today. TeeHee. Anyhow, I've been on the Alanon part of the board this evening. This board is more "fun" for me, as I can work on staying sober over here. I feel the love, girls! Ugh....this is going to be a long freaking journey, isn't it......I fear I'm not going to love this ride. I get seasick, and I don't love rollercoasters. Darnit!

well...i was eating cornbread cake after my buds left...and the craziest thing happened....someone kicked in my door...blindfolded me and before i knew it i was on a private jet....on my way to bermuda....with all of my sober mommies!!!!!!!!!!!!
it was so great!!!! campfire on the beach....beezy was "bar-tending"... virgin margaritas and daiquiris...and her knee was healed!!!!!!!! she danced all night under the stars...found out that nyc funded the trip 'cause she became a millionare on ebay!!!!!!!c'est taught us all dirty words in french and liss showed us her cool exploding mentos trick....and she was in heaven outdoors...poor jane stepped in raccoon poop twice...(i didn't know there were raccoons in bermuda...you learn something new every day!)...and was terrorized by snarling mice....but we scared them away, calmed her down...and she danced all night with beezy!!!! alissa was all smiles and jokes and kept everyone happy...and showed us pictures of her sweet baby girl....ifgan and fred were partying hard...and singing karaoke all night...and then mary poppins flew in with her umbrella...that was an amazing sight...and her button-up boots were so cute!...and she had tons of fun gifts in that big bag of hers....candy showed off her gymnastics skills while we cheered her on...and codi was shy at first but we drew her out of her shell!!!and she was the life of the party!!!and as we were eating cake that tasted nothing like chocolate cornbread...and every other salty...delicious treat you can think of...and drinking those cool virgin drinks by the bonfire...scoot came roaring up on her scooter!!! i didn't know you could do so many tricks on those things!!! she was amazing!!!!then my stripper mil showed up and my girls beat her off with sticks!!!!it was wonderful!!!!and the best part...no hangovers!!!'cause we're the sober mamas!!!!!!
all in all you were all amazing and i thank you for a wonderful party...
tomorrow nyc is treating us to spa treatments and a shopping spree because ebay made her RICH RICH RICH!!!!!!

she was up partying.....Ayla...I must make a trip to ohio and kidnap you for real and go hang out for a weekend....you my friend are great .....love the story...I woke in a good mood but was very glad to have a good laugh before 9 am...and not at the expense of myself for once....
this time yesterday my coffee pot was overflowing..coffee bean jammed it...my kids were not getting ready and I almost forgot lunches....what a difference 24 hrs makes....that is what I love about life sometimes...never know what tomorrow brings..
Okay I need help....I have a picture of mera but am not sure how to get it on here ??? so I think jane could help me....and I see you changed your avatar and pic...are you making peace with your coons ???? My dog got a possum last night...ew those things are ugly and of course my son saw it first...he was not freaked out he just thought or dog was great for keeping him away....I really don't want to get rid of him...he has stayed in the fence but I hae to chain him some and put him in the basement at night....which is not a big deal....we'll see....
well my gal is paying me...Finally....so that stress is gone...and my knee does still hurt but my ultram does help....I just have trouble sleeping cause one wrong move I am screaming in pain....but I will not wear that brace to bed...I mean how sexy is that...
speaking of that...I was dreaming about my hubby and i last night ya know..we were in bed ...talking all sexy and everytime my dream was about to get naughty something in the dream interupted us...like wierd things...kids outside our window, then the dog was over the fence...etc..
I woke up cracking up cause I can't even have naughty dreams without being interupted...oh the life of a mom.....gotta love it.....
maybe I will have a better dream night tonight or the real thing ....va va voom....
I gotta go and get my laundry folded...but they are on fall break so I have some help....
I had a parent conference and Madi did good on all her stuff...but the teacher informed me the boys fight everyday over who sits by her in circle times...she said 4 of them were squishing her yesterday and she had to break it up....Oh boy...I am not ready for this .....
my first kiss was in kindergarten...he kissed me for the record...so I guess it is just those boys being boys..but they better watch out...I may have a bum knee but can still catch em...LOL...

Here you go, Beezy--I hope I can describe this so it makes sense, but here's how I post pics:
1) Go to www.imageshack.us
2) To post one of your own pics (stored on your computer) Check/click the "file" box.
3) Click the "browse" button--it should bring up your picture files. When you find the photo you want to post, double click on it--all its "info" (that computer gibberish) will appear in the long, rectangular box.
4) Check/click the "resize image" box, then choose the size you want from the drop-down thingy.
5) Check/click the "remove size/resolution bar from thumbnail" box.
6) Click the "host it" button, then wait.....
7) Eventually, a new page will appear with all these links for you to choose from. Choose "hotlink for forum (1)" by selecting and copying the entire contents of the box to the left (starting with "[URL blah blah blah...").
8) Paste this link into your post.
