Good morning class. My this is a busy class, I love it.
Day 7. Congrats on your day 7 as well RAL! I would love to see your puzzle when you are done, it sounds lovely. My oldest son and I love doing big puzzles together. We have a ton to do because I buy them up as I see ones he would like. He always has many to open on his Birthday and Chrismas. Lots of Disney, Starwars and Harry Potter. We also use fabric stuff you iron on (can't think of the name!) To bind the back so he can hang them on his bedroom walls, his room is quite filled with them.

Welcome to Berony and anyone else new!
I am off to find another cup of coffee or tea.

Well I've had a productive day today. Grocery shopping this morning while my other half played school teacher with the littlies. A cheeky burger king for lunch- they've opened up near where we live and we decided a treat was in order.

Then, after distributing some food parcels, I spent the afternoon making face coverings for me and the kids. I'm the nominated person to go out for supplies and decided I wanted something more pretty and comfortable. Exercise rules have been relaxed a bit here in the UK so I made some masks for the kids so they can wear them when we're on our walks, meaning we can walk round the park again, instead of pounding the quieter back streets.

Hoping all my classmates are doing well. Please reach out before you pick up.

Myst

I don't know how to post pics from the little android box but - if the link above is working-they're based on those.

Mine are prettier though of course 🙂

Oh they are awesome.
Another SR friend is making masks as well.
I was going to buy some of hers, but ended up getting them from Amazon.
I have plain black ones.

But I can't wear one as I am ridiculously claustrophobic.
So I guess I won't be going into any shops for a long time....

No one here is wearing them outside. Almost no one.
Just keeping lots of personal distance.

I actually watched my neighbour's baby for a few mins while he went inside to get the dog....all from a nice safe 6 feet.
I sang to her.

Wow Myst-impressive masks You're lucky coming out of lockdown. North of the border we are still in full lockdown.

Morning all! I didn't mean to seem like I was getting down on myself too much, although setting high expectations for myself is a forte of mine. I guess, in my mind, I generally assume that my drinking has no bearing on the state of my house and my level of motivation, but maybe there's more of a connection there than I realize.

Hey all- I have stumbled in out out of alcohol abuse for the better part of 20 years. I had been on a cruise control for a while but its time for me to stop. I've known this was the place i needed to be, but kept making excuses. I've been going to therapy to deal with anger issues and a emotionally abusive parent/child relationship with my mother. Honestly, I'd love to be able to go back to my old AA group right now, but ts not a possibility with COVID. Thanks for the forum, and everyone present. This is my Day 1.

You all have me laughing which is nice.
Welcome Barony! It's good to have you here.
Stubbs, so sorry you drank again. Dee is right, as you mentioned. I've been reading this quote every morning, "If you don't know where you're going, any path will get you there." So true for us. For everyone, really. Hugs and I'm so glad you're back!
PMAZ, I did get a giggle how you described your wife. "A very odd creature". I think it's wonderful that she's decided to dump the beer and stay sober with you. I was grouchy about it, too. But, this will help a lot, I think!
I love to crochet, Tryharder, and I also don't really know how. I would love to learn. I'm learning gardening now, but we have a week of rain forecast, so maybe?
Enjoy your sober day, everyone. We are very fortunate, there are so many still suffering.

For me, the fact that she is going to do this with you says a lot.

I am sorry she is being cold ~ that is hard to deal with.
Sending loads of love. xx
She texted me earlier and said she's mad at herself. She drank 3-4 beers yesterday, and at the alcohol % most of our brews usually are, she felt very anxious today.
I think I have her on the wagon. She's a handful at times, but she almost always comes back upset with her, not me.
Maybe I can get her to join, too.

Welcome Outdoors! I'm glad you're here. How are you doing?
Congrats on seven days RAL and Citrus!!
My house gets awful when I'm drinking, Daria. It takes a long time to put right again. Go easy on yourself and remember that staying sober is number one, the rest will follow.
Hugs to all!

Thanks, For me substance abuse, anxiety, and depression go hand in hand. I'll push through it, but complacency is my biggest enemy. I can hammer through a week or a month, but I've invariably failed myself sooner or later. I'm planning to not do that this time.

I actually wish I could say the same, but my house's tidiness has never seemed to directly correlate to the amount of alcohol I consume. It was probably at its best ever about 10 yrs ago when I was a moderate drinker, compared to my 20s where I rarely drank and it was a mess. lol

The largest issue with my house is I get overwhelmed and anxious and don't know where to start when I look at all of the clutter/mess, so I just don't. That's always been the one constant... feeling overwhelmed, which leads to inaction.
