Hey Overs!

Afternoon here Andy, 8:10 over there Mountain time US here. Like many retired US military, I drink coffee all day long. So third 12 oz. mug in hand here too at 1:10pm here, cheers. We watched all but the last two episodes of Ozark (Netflix) until 3 AM last night, so got up at 11. For those here that already have my old email and would like the new just pm me for it. I am also on FB but don’t ask to friend if you avoid politics. I am very vocal there with Memes and comments, to only a few friends. Not interested in becoming a start there.

PJ,
Yep the others here all are not wearing masks. They don’t realize they wear masks to protect others from them if they have it and don’t know it. Nor acknowledge what they are saying by not caring. We are going for some windshield touring.

Mags,

Windshield tours can’t hurt. Nor outdoor fun away from the possibly infected others.

Star,

Indeed it is a real place. (Cripple Creek) look it up in Wiki it is a great story. Last big gold strike/rush. Still lots of gold there.

FBL,

Tell mom Happy B-Day from us here! You are great at paying your sobriety forward bud. Nice "Dad" dream that. Glad your project goes well too.

Got the Baja A/C recharged today as the guy who rebuilt the whole motor did not charge the system on assembly. We’ll not be using him again. Engine is fine, now, after him redoing three times.

Dee,

Thanks! The reason for the barring of yoohoo’s makes some sense now.

Binge watching OZARK, last two episodes tonight.

Got grass seed (not that kind!) and weed and feed as well as pesticide for the giant red ants in our yard. They are closer in size to a wasp than other red ants. Might need the shotgun!

Itchy, interesting though not surprising that no matter where live there are positives and then the scary stuff. I guess it all comes down to what each of us likes more versus what we find really bothersome.

well, fortunately no side effects from my first infusion yesterday. Next one in two weeks. Apparently only 17% have results within the first couple of months and that goes up to 42% at one year so certainly not guaranteed. It’s an expensive option in any case but even more so given those odds. Keeping fingers crossed.

Have a good day, Overs!

Glad it went well Sassy!

Itchy, those big ants may make you pine for the old days of fire ants, not!

Good day for yard work today.

Be safe all!

Hey Overs!

Yep Andy, they are huge ants and they have stingers like fire ants. Dang! But they are not aggressive like fire ants.

Sassy,
I'm rooting for you to have the best results from your biologicals/infuson. Ants are not a negative. There are no negatives for us here. I am armed in bear country and when we are out in the boonies. We kept snakes as pets! We've found one black widow where at our last place we'd have seen five or ten by now. I do hope you get early good results.

Star,
Nope, we'll take these ants, am doing the granules tomorrow. Today we did all the herbicide in the xeriscaped parts of the yard. And find who we're going to hire to aerate and power rake the yard. I love yard work.

Well, we finished Ozark season three. Word is that they will do a fourth season! Great series! Sunny and dry again. Many tornados and severe thunderboomers far to the SW part of Colorado. It was nostalgic watching the same violent weather we used to be in the middle of before. G'night.

Morning Overs

Andy, hope the black dog scoots off.

We've had rain, it’s not cold though. Certainly a change from earlier in the week.

Have a Good Friday my friends and keep safe. xxxx

Andy,
You'll get there.

Toots,
Do you guys get tornadoes there? Windy yesterday here.

Mags,
I hope the rain clears.

Dee,
Getting cold your way?

Beautiful weather here!

Have a great weekend!

Good morning, Overs.

Andy, I hope the Black Dog runs away from your coffee :-)

thanks, all for the good wishes! I suspect the infusions are better at maintaining remission than inducing it and that probably explains why the doc is keeping me on the older med at the same time - it didn’t get me into remission but did work part way.

I realized that back in the early days of my sobriety this flare plus the covid-19 thing would very likely have resulted in drinking again. I know people here who have a case of wine (or harder stuff) delivered periodically. I haven’t even been tempted - it is no longer my go to solution for anything that happens. How freeing! I rarely even think about it but every once in awhile it’s good to stop and realize how much I have gained.

Happy POETS Day!

Sassy, I imagine your situation being perfect for an alcoholic. Living alone, meals delivered, minimal social contact. No one to "bother" me while drinking with impunity. I am glad you are well beyond that thinking.

Itchy, glad the Black Widows are less prevalent in Colorado. Do scorpions make it as far north as you are, or just southern Colorado?

I was not familiar with the Black Dog phrase. I wonder if the Led Zepplin song of the same name was inspired by that? It tells a depressing saga.

Be safe all!

Its 11 today Itch - doesn't bother me tho

This is shaping up to be a classic winter after several years of no winter to speak of.

Not sure whether its a coincidence or due to the global industrial slowdown but I'll take it
