Morning Overs

Itchy I haven’t heard sausages called bangers for a while. Lol. I recall bangers and mash was a popular meal with some. Toad-in-the-hole is nice. Yorkshire pudding with sausages cooked in it. I’ll put a pic at the end my post.

My get-up-and-go has scarpered. I can’t seem to get my head round anything much except reading. think I’m going to have to write a list and give myself a task everyday.

Have a good Friday my friends. Stay safe. xxxx

Wow Mags that's spooky, I have eaten toad in the hole but never cooked it, but have planned to give it a go this weekend as I have some sausages in the freezer needing used up!

Good morning Overs.
Toad in the hole was the first meal I made for my family, in my early teens.
Have a good day everyone.

Change of plan Mags, our local butcher has reopened so it's steak pie instead! 😊

I have steak and mushroom pies in the freezer. And all sorts of other types as well as pasties.
There is a place in Georgia called The Australian Bakery Cafe and they literally make every kind of Aus/Brit pie and goodies like lamingtons and vanilla slices and oh so much more.

Now I am hungry.

Hey folks, checking in. I've been in a funk lately. No drinking thoughts but very blah about things. Sorry to dump here, but coming to this thread helps. Thank you all for being here.

Morning Overs

JimmyJ, sorry you’re feeling out of sorts, but I’m glad you’re here.

Suze, I had a look at The Australian Bakery Cafe and everything looks delicious. The meat pies and desserts look gorgeous and the tarts and fruit mince pies reminds me of how my mum baked them years ago. They look gorgeous. Have you been able to purchase pies from them on the lockdown?

toots, I’d do the same! Pie? Toad in the hole? Yeah....Pie wins! Enjoy.

We’re having roast chicken dinner today. My life seems to be revolving around food, cleaning, reading, and food again. Could be worse I suppose.

Have a good Sunday my friends. xxxx

JimmyJ, lots of folks, including myself, have been finding ourselves that way. The ongoing stress of the virus and lock down have affected us all over the past months. For a lot of people, they have never lived life one day at a time. For us, it is a way of life. Stick to your recovery plan and seek support daily here and wherever else you get solace from.

Be safe all!

I agree Star, I also feel that the loss of having any kind of control over what is happening -especially to those who usually have a lot of control over things - is having a detrimental affect. I do find the importance of routine and - yes Sass! - writing and ticking off lists really does help to ease the stress somewhat.
