Day 6. Woke up at 7am after a restful sleep. I feel good. Went to AA this morning. Going to another meeting this afternoon. Preaches, dust yourself off and try again!

I did not know this, but I think it's fascinating.....

Henry Ford failed and went broke five times before he succeeded

So much love Peaches.

Happy Sunday, classmates! Day 7 for me.

Peaches, I know having another day one is upsetting but please be gentle on yourself. You can do this.

Welcome to all of the newcomers! This is a great place for support and encouragement.

For fellow alcoholics, I find it useful to read about how alcohol abuse acts on the GABA system in the brain over time. It explains a lot of the uncomfortable feelings one experiences when one stops.

I found it useful as well. It helped knowing their was light at the end of the tunnel, as well as that I wasn't permanently damaged lol

Hope you don't mind me chiming in....Dee and I are in different time zones now (Aussie who moved to America), so I just want to say hi while he is asleep and let you guys know that you are NEVER alone.

As Dee told me in February 2103....someone is ALWAYS here.

I'm so happy I've made it to early afternoon without a sip.

Peaches good for you for jumping straight back

Day 9 checking in. Was a tad rough today. Feelin bloated.

Church, watched a little baseball, bookstore, ate. Gonna read a little, maybe a short nap. movie. bed.

Fought a little road rage out there today. My truck is not running well. Gonna have to take it to the shop.

Anyway was thinking there is only one reason to drink. The fact it is a short sighted short term slight relief. There are a million reasons why I shouldn't pick up. All very good reasons. No matter what I will not drink. Preparing for that tidal wave-craving that has knocked me on my butt in the past. Gonna kick it's butt.

Have a good night fellow Aprilians. Keep going.

Welcome ThatWasTheOldMe, anotherexcuse & abgator

congrats on a week BlueWelies and 9 days Off

welcome back Peaches - I mentioned a plan for your road trip?

I think having a recovery action plan is pretty vital guys - otherwise when we fall into situations when we can drink, chances are we will.

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ery-plans.html

Its not really about getting drunk or not either - for me any amount of alcohol could start the madness again - just not worth the risk.
