Some one on another thread just posted a story of their friend who passed- very young, because of alcohol addiction.
I think of my bro sometimes..he was a pretty good guy when he was not tanked..which was not often. There but for the grace of god, go I.

I'm sorry about your brother PhoenixJ, and as always, am thankful that you are here with us.

I know we have all had close calls with death from alcohol/drugs in our lives.

I am lucky to be here as well. When my friends pass away at young ages due to alcohol and drugs, it truly scares and saddens me, right to my core. My heart is somewhere in my stomach right now.

Thank you everyone for your condolences.

I'm doing ok.

This disease is so awful. Alcohol is poison!!

I'm sorry for the sad news and stark reminder but this is real life.

Thanks in advance for your love and hugs.

I'm sorry LB. This disease is awful.

Hugs.

Glad the ceremony will be alcohol free. So rare for weddings!!

I used to avoid football games on tv. Too many beer ads, reminding me of what I was "missing."

Weekend over I'm afraid. Bummer!

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Two months sober today for me. Really happy about that and the fact I really do not miss drinking. I seem to miss what wasn't true...not sure how that gets turned around in my mind. The mirage of great times and ambiance where I was just like normal drinkers.

I don't miss the actual terrible times of being drunk, obnoxious and sick.

Well, off to make dinner. Might need to get very creative since I didn't go shopping this weekend. LOL!

Lillian, great job on 2 months!!!
Hello all, one check in today but wanted to say good night and I’m happy and grateful to be sober again tonight. Doing the next right thing, moment by moment.

Congratulations, Lillian. Well done.

Condolences, Luna. I'll be saying prayers for you.

So. Thursday night after I was in a deep sleep, my youngest called me from the emergency room 2 hours away. Her back just gave out. I drove to get her. Picked her up and brought her home. She is still in a lot of pain but can move. Not going back to school tomorrow. I hope we get this figured out soon. She can't miss that much school. So, needless to say, it's been a crazy weekend.

Take care everyone. Wherever you are in your sobriety, you are here. Keep trying. Don't drink. It's dumb. Sweet dreams.

Morning all!!

Bobbie - hope you get answers soon for your daughter and she gets some healing. ❤️

Lillian - 60 days is amazing!! Congrats! And I agree about how easily the idea of alcohol gets so turned around in our heads. The human brain is a curious thing.

PJ - I’m very glad you’re here with us and I am sorry about your brother. If he is looking down on us now he would be very proud of the man you have become. Hugs.

Well it’s Thanksgiving here today. So we are doing dinner with the girls and their boyfriends. Should be a few hours of wonderful chaos. Looking forward to it.

I am off to get some startin’ fluid and clean the house.....just in time for everyone to get here and destroy it. Lol. See the human brain.....

Sam- my bro died about 7 yrs ago. My other bro reminded me- I was in the same bed in the ICU when I woke up out of a coma- that he died in. Same bed- obviously meaning bed space/number. No better or worse than anyone else grieving- but still freaks me a little. He had the same b-day as me, but 3 years older. He chose to go to a Sade concert on my 21st, and refused to be one of my groomsmen- or even attend my wedding, so mixed feelings. But if their is anything after this mortal plane- hopefully he and all the other drunks in my FOO have found peace.
Long day- 2309 Monday. A VERY feral meeting today. VERY draining.

Morning!!!

Phoenix - sorry your meetings take so much out of you. Hope you're getting what you need. Family sure can mess us up.

Sam - Happy Thanksgiving! Are you having a murder mystery dinner again? That sounded so cool. Enjoy your girls.

Hey - Upstairs!

Good evening, Mish!

Okay, so I locked myself out of my phone. That new update got me, I guess. Off to the apple store at lunch. You can laugh, my husband did. Daughter has dr. appointments today. Hopefully she can get some relief.

Have a fantastic day!
