Well, I am currently a deer in headlights. Boss quit this week, apparently with no notice. Nice!

Laundry and Starbucks with an extra shot of espresso.

It is time for some Godsmack - dvd is called "Changes" if anyone wants to see the best movie ever! (It is on Youtube as well )

Takin' a step back so I can breathe
Hear the silence about to break
Fear resistance when I'm awake"

Later today I'll be returning from a coach-trip.
I will have enjoyed it, I'll have interacted with people, seen new sights and have a lot to think about.
In the past all that unusual stimulation has let me to "unwind" at home in an unhelpful way, you know how it goes.
This time I'm coming straight here when I get home and hope to read some helpful messages from you kids.
I feel confident at the moment but also appreciate the wisdom of the extra backup I know I can count on here.
Have a good day, everybody xxx
Back later

No ikea today, instead we are all lounging around on the couch. I can live with that 😁

Hey all! Laying on the couch. My daughter leaves tomorrow for her summer job. She just got home. She will be a camp counselor for a camp 2 hours from here. She gets a 5 day break in the middle.

Have a great evening guys!!

Got lost in Zelda. Made some huge progress in it tonight. It helps that I'm finally actually moving forward instead of playing for a couple of days and then deciding I want to start all over again because I've figured out a better way to play.

Anyways, nice day off. Lot of family time before the Zelda. No AA meeting but that's OK. Sleep good everyone! Keep the light on for us, Phoenix and Dee.

LAYING on the couch????? HA! I am SITTING in an ARM chair. Using a stolen carry basket (not me- so okay) from a hardware market for a footrest. The recovery chair pop out f-rest leaps out like an ejector seat- and will only go back in if the chair is rested on it's back and full body weight applied to re-set it.
Knog is moving onto the next 'stage'- a unit with visitor's priv. The other night there was very loud thunder rumblings with multiple lightning strikes 9caused massive factory fire out north of city). I thought it was Knog rearranging her furniture again. Not to worry- KONG has moved in next to her upstairs. HE was my neighbour in the last recovery place (the communal one). He is different- when he walks- the ceiling vibrates, he makes load moaning noises in his sleep (like a yawn with steroids) and very interesting upper respiratory sounds- I think he has phlegm of at least 4 different densities.
Trying very hard today not to have a 'I have to...' day. TRYING just to be....

Morning! Rainy, grey day here. Stayed up late last night (well late for me) watching the Edward Snowden movie with DH. It was interesting.

I am off for the next two days and have a few hurdles in front of me. This afternoon is a friends baby shower - I think I already said this but the theme is BBQ, Beer and Bassinets. Crazy how literally everything involves alcohol now. Then tomorrow is lunch with DH's family where they buy liquor by the case (literally) and then a BBQ and fire with friends of DH. I've never met them before but the stories I hear are always booze filled. So that pretty much fills my entire two days. Meh. Feels like a lot of work ahead. But I guess work bears reward. And someone pretty smart told me recently that sobriety is not the curse we often see it as but is the gift we give to ourselves - going to work on changing my mindset. Also we really should get on building that sober retreat.

So expect to see me checking in more than normal. Sorry in advance...lol. Well off to find some startin' fluid.

Wake up, Marchers!

Work this morning/afternoon. No other real plans for the day.

Glad to see you, Mish! Don't be a stranger.

Sobriety as a gift not a curse is a good thought, Sam. You can do this!

Wishing everyone a safe and sober Sunday or Australian Thursday.

Morning all.

Sound like you've been talking to a really smart person, Sam. Lol

Phoenix, sorry you're having tough days.

Casey- have a great day at work!

Caramel - glad you made it through your day. You're in my thoughts.

You know, Sam, if you tell people about your struggles, they're more likely to get behind you and help. That's what I find. No judgement. Just lots of support.

Great day, all!! Get some sleep, PHX.

B- I am fine thanks. The 'have to' kicked in. Doing more look at past with more emotional IQ, fitting it into new awareness. It is really beginning to dawn on me in an 'adult' fashion- without fear (but still sadness, not of the helpless kind now) that I truly am alone. From a desperate prayer, to a hope, to a growing awareness- to beginning to let go. Sigh.

Sam- I agree with B, a problem shared....
Besides B shares and we all think she looks great now in that charming new canvas one piece she wears on outings with the leather straps/tie ups down the back....

Done w/ work & don't know which way is up. Since drinking is not an option, guess I'll head over to Starbucks. Will check back in to catch up when I get home. Hugs!
