Mags,
I know you had an allergic reaction to something and are OK. Any news on the breathing issues? I agree on the weird allergies lately. John Denver was a pilot and was flying his personal experimental aircraft alone and crashed.

Suze,
It is great to have you and Wolf back more often again. Is your eye and allergy issues easing up?
I am not allergic to milk but despise it. I was forced to drink powered milk until I threw it up. That was around age 8 and I still won't drink it unless it was pored and I am a guest so as to not insult the host/ess. I get my calcium the way God intended . . . from a pill!

Andy,
My surgeon is referring me to a specialist and Monday I will find out what is up. The surgery must have broken loose something because it is in the middle of my vision in my left eye and some in the right too. I don't know if they, the implant company, or my body, have this weird stuff going on. I'll keep ya posted bud.
I gotcha on the tractor dualies. Just a reversed type of rim like the dual wheels on trucks?
Wow washing up with caustic floor cleaner. Dang! Glad y'all figured it out. ( She didn't work on the water fountain did she??

Happy BDay Matt!
Sorry I was rushing yesterday and got to it late. It's great that you have perspective and savor your good times.

FBL,
John Hurt was one of the good ones, thanks for letting us know to look. Catching up on four years of research sounds like a challenge, but given the field you're in and your work ethic I can't wait to hear about it.

GHD,
Wow! Lots of allergies these days. I was fine until recently and now my scalp edges at my hairline turn bright red from most shampoos. That, along with sudden onset very dry skin that itched (Thus Itchy) started when I quit smoking and drinking. Just read about your cat. Glad we have the great docs for our fur kids too! Ooh I never thought about another family fur kid going after another's wound. I am glad to hear the other didn't mess with them either.

Toots,
I do hope you get the sewer gas/dead animal in the plumbing issue resolved this time. I know you will enjoy the sunny days.

RZ,
Amen on the cheaper but waffles?? One of the sad commercials about freezing abused dogs just aired. I hate seeing those. I have a TV tuner and have TV in a corner of the screen usually just background noise. I do love watchin OTA shows like "Gunsmoke" and "The Rifleman." The local oldies TV channel (ME TV)has gone back to the first seasons of them and I never saw the actors as young as in those, especially James Arness.. And Kitty was in her late teens early 20's!!

Sassy,
That is the plan to have them both working and no glasses. But then that was the plan the first time too. Hey! It is what it is. I just read that the SS administration said that according to their records the lages part of folks who manage to survive to 65 will likely live to 84.6 years for guys or some such. All I have to do now is survive for four more months and I will be good for another 20.

Kris,
Thanks I know it will be fine. How are yours doing now? Isn't it a PITA to keep up with the drops??? Or did your docs do the new and not in common use shots. I told you the surgery part is a breeze. I have been hearing that a lot of flu is going around and I hope you feel better soon. I am one of the ones that gets no bugs save a one hour form the few times one gets in.

Delilah,
So nice to hear from you. A while ago someone said
Tractor talk - Ugh!

Makeup talk! Ugh backatcha! <wink>

PJ,
I'll second that.

Star!
Hi to you too!

FG,

I am doing better with the back recovery. My cervical section is recovered and the lumbar twinges as the time goes on less and less. I start hydrotherapy a week from Monday. They have a 20 foot square pool and the whole bottom is perforated and is an elevator! NO stairs, they raise it to floor level. And the floor is also a treadmill. Never saw one of those before.

I installed our Ring video doorbell and got the app working and the online recordings set up. I got a set with one doorbell and two outside weatherproof cameras too. I set them up tomorrow. Boy has tech come on fast. These guys have rechargeable batteries and we can see and talk to people at the door from the living room or from 3000 miles away, they still would think we are inside and home. And even if they managed to destroy them the recordings online are saved for as long as I want. This was impossible just ten years back!
I am having fun again. Now if I can just have it without the twinges and blurry vision! Or not!

Thanks for being here guys.

Hi itchy
Every cloud has a silver lining! One of the meds the doc gave me for my allergy was prednisolone, they help mr breathe great, but they don't give you them for long!
The combination sprays the specialist gave me and has now cut down, yeah, they don't like you on them for long, bad for the old bones! Lol. So I caught a chest infection, etc, etc, etc.

I saw those door bells connected to phones. I want one! Been on about it for a while now. Sound like fun! And of course great security too!
I'm pleased your back's healing well.

Itchy, yes - I saw the ads for one of those door gadgets. It would be here already but living here at the OFH means I don't need it - darn it

I'm looking forward to spring when we can be done with humidifiers, dry skin, stuffy noses and all of that stuff. It hasn't been a horrible winter so far - just kinda meh.

Have a good one, Overs!

Just stopping by to say hi!

Thanks for the hugs, Suze.

Still feeling pretty ruff.

Haven't been sick like this in years.

See what tomorrow brings.

These drops will keep me busy enough today, Itchy. I'm don on March 8! UUh! lol

Glad your cat is gonna be ok, GD.

Mags,
Yeah, unfortunately steroids can lower your resistance to infection. So is the infection and your breathing better? I can empathize.

Yep the video doorbell is great and we can watch our home on the computer at home or any tablet or cell phone I have set up to be allowed to share. The really nice thing is that all of the videos are saved to their servers and I can delete all the false triggers or download to my phones and/or home computers if needed by police as evidence. They are so confident that if anyone is stupid enough to try to steal one, they will be recorded before they get close, and for the whole duration of the theft, and the videos saved to the cloud.

Sassy,
Yeppers! Aside from the peace of mind, they are really fun to play with the first day. It auto records even when there is no triggered event and I just choose to do a live view from anywhere. I can now check my grounds and driveway from bed or my desk or in my car. I have very little smartphone data since we only use data at home not while out, unless we have a good free Internet access point. The company is fairly new but really has it together. I have a full wired set with a 4 TB DVR but it needs holes drilled and wiring done and it is still in the box. Too much hassle.

RZ,
When was your last time down South
There are sure a lot of Waffle House restaurants down here. It used to be Shoney's Big Boy but I haven't seen those in years. You guys back in Southern CT had a rough winter. I remember the last time a big tree fell and just missed your house a few years back. You weathered this one OK? Knock on wood, winter isn't over yet. The temps dropped over the week and it is now going to warm to the mid 70s until Friday when it drops again to 50°, then warms again.

Kris,
You sound better in writing, glad you're feeling a bit better:
"These drops will keep me busy enough today, Itchy. I'm don on March 8! UUh! lol"

I know, and I have a feeling I will be going through them again after I see the top specialist guy my specialist referred me to tomorrow afternoon.

Y'all hang in there, the flu is peaking early this year.

Kris - Feel better soon!

Mags - I hope your chest infection resolves soon.

Itchy - Glad you're making progress healing your back. It's cool you found a new gadget to keep you intrigued.

FBL - Good luck with the new research project.

Toots - Good luck with the repairs to the vacation house.

IP - I'm quite inspired that you find you're not relying on men as distractions. The little breakthroughs really do add up.

Carlos - I know that allowing myself brain breaks is the type of self care that keeps me on a steady, sober path.

Venus - Take good care of those allergies.

Andy - I didn't go to any youth sport tailgates this weekend but I did watch people behave so negatively toward the officials, and the players on the opposite teams.

Rusty - I enjoy your recovery input, at 13 and 5/6 years.

Itch, we LOVE Waffle House!

It's our #1 food stop when we go to the mountains!

Once we hosted a friend from overseas. We took him to Waffle House; he was very frightened by the guys with the teardrop tattoos! !

Thanks Glee.
How are you doing? You sound happy.

Gil,
I ran into a local chemistry professor coming out of a waffle house to get in his Tesla model S. I freaked as I'd driven a Leaf and a Mitsubishi miEV, but had never even seen a Tesla in person. That despite investing my business payroll and savings accounts when I retired again in Tesla when they IPO'd in 2010 at $17. This was 2013. He insisted I drive it and I was terrified I'd hurt it. Man what a ride! All because we were driving by the Waffle House. I have liked them ever since. Yes, I am still all in on Tesla. Look up TSLA.

Yes! They do they really do, it's what I'm finding. ....the more I cut out ALL of the distractions and crutches I have in life, the more I am finding out about my own strengths. So thankful these days for my independence and for being sober. It's amazing what happens when you choose your own health first.

My nose has been bleeding since last night, off and on! Yuck. So weird, I don't know why, but it's annoying!

What the heck is Waffle House? Is it anything like De Dutch Pannekoek house? (Which I happened to eat at on Saturday morning?)

Morning overs

Itchy, I've got until Thursday morning for the antibiotics course to finish but, I'm full of cold , so just going steady at moment. My breathing is ok but even with 8 prednisolone down me every morning (only for a week) I'm still using my puffers more than I have to!

But I feel a lot better! If that makes sense, mentally. Especially now all face and neck swelling down, still a bit red and when we were in the car yesterday and the sun came through the window, it flared up my skin again, making it redder! Strange. It's almost like I've had a burn on my skin, my skin has peeled so I guess it has.

Inpar, I hope your nosebleeds dissipate. Pop to the docs or pharmacy if they carry on. I agree, when we learn to stand on our own two feet we learn so much about ourselves!

Have a good Monday overs...... I'm going to look up what a Waffle House and de Dutch Pannekoek house is! Both sound yummy!

Just a quick check in ash shortly leavingthe hotel and will be heading to the airport after hubby does a bit of work ( he has been over here doing a short contracted visit to a factory that purely coincidentally is around 20 miles from our new house!) I will be in three capitals today, Madrid, London, Edinburgh, ( or just outside if we are being precise!) as I am puddle-jumping back home via three flights. Not too long to waste at airports between connections fortunately.
It has been a fleeting but worthwhile trip, we bought tiles for the hallway, some bedside cabinets and fan/light fittings. We also checked out the house and agreed on a few things we needed to do. The guy we have in to do the tiling has started his other work and hopefully we will have the kitchen stripped and plastered ready to start fresh in 3 weeks when we drive back with the trailer.
Itchy the guy has stripped out the shower, looks like there is no ptrap, so he will get one put in which hopefully will solve the smell problem. It is already better than it was.
I really can't wait now to get back across and get stuck in. We have so much to do that we will be leaving things half finished to come back to in March or April. I will probably give up my job by then so I can focus on doing up both houses. ( And our huge garden!)

Too many posts to reply individually, but feel better those who are poorly ( incl furbabies)

Hugs for now x
