One Year & Over Part 46
I can relate to that Kris!
We have a shop called body shop here, sells cosmetics and bath stuff and I can't go in the shop without sneezing, well I dont frequent it. But I have lavender in tubs in my garden which don't seem to bother me! I don't think!
Carlos, so pleased you had a good birthday and I can always sense, feel your joy when I read your words. Yes, bring sober gave us our lives back, to enjoy.

For those with sensitive skin, might I suggest checking EWG and look at their cosmetics guide. They get very specific about the safety of the ingredients contained in each. I'm very happy with this resource,

I am a fan of lavender and of eucalyptus, I don't like the fruity or sweet smells.
Hmm, so I guess you're not exactly alright yet Mags.
You know I empathise to the max.
I have had an eye like that on and off for weeks now due to allergies.
And it hurts so much....well, it is getting better now.
I know you would have racked your brain to see if there was anything new in your diet. Even a different milk, or a new tea that you tried.
Re moisturiser, I use Olay, and only the basic one for sensitive skin.....and Cetaphil. They are gentle as. And Cetaphil is completely hypoallergenic. If I even look at a different moituriser I am in big trouble. I had an idea a few years back that I should be using the more expensive ones that repair and such, and I had an episode like you are having now.
Hope your eye feels better.....maybe a warm facewasher compress might help a little. ♥

Oh yes Delilah. I have researched and checked exactly what's available.....and Nick, well he is so very special. He has a humongous 'Suze file'....everything that might hurt me that we need to avoid. Really.
I am able to get everything I use here (cosmetics/ moisturisers etc) except for my hand cream. Not sure what I'm going to do about that as they do not ship to the US. (It's called Ego Skin Cream, a brilliant hypoallergenic Aussie product).
Oh, and my make-up. But I can change to a better quality one that is WAY too expensive here, so that should be OK.
I need to find milk still....the only one I can drink is an organic one from Whole Foods.

Skin allergies are tough to diagnose. I finally went to a specialist for skin testing. I had been using stuff that was organic or for sensitive skin. Turns out I was allergic to a common organic ingredient used in those products. These days, I wash my hands with an industrial strength liquid dish soap with no problems. My particular allergies are very rare.
I do use Cetaphil and Cerave with no problems. I also find that my skin feels better if I stay away from products with sun screen in them.

It seems that a few of us have some 'rare' allergies.
Going to look into your suggestions.
So much love. ♥
Just for the record, Zip's sober B-day is March 26. No reason why we all can't celebrate it early, it's just that I'm a stickler for details Seriously, it'll be 14 years for our resident drummer. Thanks for showing us the way and doing it with humor and humility...you're the best!
I'm on to the next project and it's a biggie. Gotta get caught up on nearly 4 years of research, and that's just the first step. Oh well, one thing at a time.
Have a great weekend, overs!

Good afternoon Overs.
One winter I had very chapped hands but it was winter and blamed myself for not drying my hands or something. One day someone in the office said 'your hands look sore, the same as mine' and another person said 'mine too.' The third person didn't let it drop and went investigating ... He discovered that the handwash and the floor cleaner were supplied by the same company and were in almost identical containers. In error the cleaner was putting floor cleaner in the soap dispensers, the poor lady was mortify when she was told what she was doing.
Have a good one everybody.

I should have noted that EWG is at www.ewg.org. I was horrified to find out how much really bad stuff can be found in skin products. One of our residents accidentally washed her face with her shampoo and had a very red face for several days.
Have a lovely Saturday, Overs.

Enjoying a quiet day at home. One of my cats had surgery on Wednesday to remove a bump under his skin. He is recovering well and in good spirits, but he is also past ready to get rid of the soft Elizabethan collar he must wear until tomorrow. Luckily, the other cat has not tried to go after the incision.
