Class of March 2013 Part 47
And Gilmer: You need to go to that website that makes stuff to order and have your signature printed on a t-shirt. I haven't co opted it from respect. Wanted to. I haven't been strong enough to live up to it.
Trachy, S & G might have something to say about copyright!
So sorry to hear of your friend Trachy, but how fated you chanced to chose now to get back on FB & found her. I am sure you are being given the gift offering support.
Gilmer, I share your pain and anger. Back when I was trying so hard to get pregnant, the wives of my then husbands friends were all alcoholics and seemed to have no difficulty getting pregnant, drank through their pregnancies and then neglected their numerous offspring. Where as I who desperately wanted a child, who would have nurtured it and loved it could only watch from the sidelines as neglected children grew into troubled young adults.
My niece was deep into drugs, prostituted herself to buy them, and continued taking heroine in early pregnancy. However, she fought long and hard to get and remain clean, and won custody of her baby son just before he reached a year. She remained clean for a few years my sadly her mom told me just a few months ago she has returned to old ways and her son is back in a foster home.
There are no answers, there is nothing we can do to change what has happened. All we can do is try to let go our own feelings. It is not for us to judge, all we can do is, if allowed, offer support.

Wow, Trach. I know the feelings you have for this woman. You will be able to give her much support and love right now. I'm so sorry about her diagnosis but how beautiful for both of you that you can be there for her now - sober.
(((Toots))) I didn't know you wanted children. But now you have that beautiful grandson to give your love to.
Who mentioned Marcher the other day? I miss her too...and Shoes.

We are at the lake for the last time this season. We had a bond fire last night and getting together for a potluck breakfast this morning. I'm ready to put things away and stay home for a week=end. Anyway--Hope everyone is doing well.

I actually had a momentary temptation to have a sip of beer earlier. I was at a party and the hard-drinking host served the lightest beer he had to a non-serious drinker.
The guy tasted it, then put the glass down: "This is so bad I can't even drink it!"
Instantly I had the urge to take a taste to see just how bad it could possibly be!
I resisted.
