I just had a bath and drank a cup of tea while I soaked. I remember drinking a glass of wine in the bath and thinking I was oh so sophisticated. I think TV and movies have a lot to answer for, making us think it's sophisticated and sexy to drink wine in the bath. I know I made the choice, of course, to keep drinking once I was out of the bath.
Now Dexter!

^^^^ Exactly. So did I, Leshar.

Your bath with teas nice and sophisticated, too.

I would never ever have drunk wine in the bath....why?
Because I hated wine. I needed to add snacks to even make it palatable.
Gulp it down as fast as possible and eat something to take away the taste.
So so crazy....

Loved this post, Leshar. So true.

I know a big part of my "lies" to myself were easily fed by our culture.

There were times (too many as far as my wallet was concerned) where I would buy the more expensive wine, to keep myself locked into the illusion of sophistication.

I know I did not look very sophisticated going back for my next bottle when I ran out.

Ladybug, glad you made it through the close call! I feel good already too. It feels great, but another part of me thinks how great some wine will be now that I feel better. Duh! What? It doesn't even make sense.

Anyway, I know I'm good for tonight. Tomorrow I am off for Veterans Day. I have a few things planned but it Only takes one minute for my mindset to falter. I need some good sober time under my belt like many of you have.

Totally understand that sweetheart. We are all here for you , so just take it day by day, minute by minute. I feel for you darling one , I really do.
I'm empathising as my AV is SCREAMING at me. I'm trying to keep myself busy, distracted , etc etc.....

Some days are just sooooo bloody hard, that's why we are so lucky to trust in each other xx

I've been watching a little of the new comedy The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt...

one of her maxims is that you can stand anything for ten seconds...then you do another ten seconds, then another...

Whatever's going on, you can always get past it and wear that AV down

Hey, morning! I am just hanging around. Nothing really different to report. Everything has been calm cool collected just as I like. Glad to read all the posts..it helps me to just read about people getting on with their business. I came home yesterday, changed clothes, put on some laundry. Think I was in bed before 9 and asleep soon after. Trucker comes home tonight. No big plans tonight either. Cook dinner, watch tv and chill, then bed. Have a good Wednesday! We are closed today at work but it's our annual training day..yay (god I hate this!) lol
