I'm on day 1 again. But I hope to make it through August. No, I'm going to make I through August. I need hope. Any of you get like that? I go 6 or 7 days then I drink a 6 pack one evening. Then I go 6 or 7 and drink again. If I said this 6 months ago I would have been thrilled with my progress. Last 63 days I've drank 6 times. I had problems drinking just 6 out of 7 days six months ago.

This time I'm going to be extra vigilant at day 6 and 7. Try to attend a meeting or two next weekend. Don't drink today, everyone.

I am still here but had a momentary pause on the way home about buying but I didn't. I ate instead but that's better. Like some of you thoughts of the weekend are coming and that is where I always fail.I need a plan: either gym, spa and early night or long walk to exhaustion early night. But I will be keeping SR closer than ever. Day 3 I believe.

RogerD,

I'm the exact same way. Sometimes I make it to 6 or even 10 days then I cave to the AV, ignore all the damage alcohol is doing to my body and relationships and drink a six pack or more. I slipped up on Saturday and did that. I ended up in an argument with my wife because I wasn't doing a good job with the kids.

Day 2 for me, feeling better. Back on the horse!

Day 1

Today is Day 1 and who knows what this journey will bring. I have been thinking about doing this for awhile and have finally decided to do it.

I am back on day 1 as well. Yesterday I gave my husband 4 choices of something to do and he picked the only one that would involve drinking. I was kind of disappointed but went along with it. We went to the pool and had a good day. I need to learn to stand on my own two feet and not drink just because people around me are. That is SOO hard to do though.

It is very hard to not give in to peer pressure.

For me drinking is a "social lubricant" and I sometimes feel awkward without it. Especially when I'm the only one not drinking.

We just need to remember that the only one noticing us not drinking is usually ourselves. To "normals" who can take it or leave it, I don't think they care at all.

Well, everyone it's nice to know I'm not alone. Post before you decide to drink. Someone else is most likely feeling the same way and we can get through this together

FF I definitely feel awkward without it. It's just habit. It's what we do. I need to get past that somehow. Sunday pool party just isn't the same with a bottle of water. Ugh!

Hi everyone, starting my Day 1 today. I've lurked for a while, tried to quit my wine habit numerous times, but not successful...yet!

Looking forward to not drinking today. I have plans set for this evening to get some new books to read and take our dog for a walk. I also started eating healthy, 2 meals down!

Hi everyone 😊
I do hope everyone is feeling ok.
I wondered if it's normal for drinking heavy ever day for the last 2 years it's been 48 hours and I have had no withdrawals ? Is this normal ?
I'm new here and so happy to know we can all be here for each other.
Have a lovely evening x
