One Year and Under Club Part 42
I work for myself, Dax, and often by myself. Unstructured time is dangerous for any addict. I know I thought who will catch me if I pour a cocktail at 4PM... then 3PM... lunch...
As Gilmer said, we are hear to hear and if you need to, look us up!
Great job on day 4 too!

So far a little brighter Gilmer. Another clear and cold day, as winter should be. Meeting a recovery friend for lunch today and I may walk to the restaurant. Love days like this, but sadly no snow to cover the city grime.

Dax, I think that working on your sobriety will very likely change your current feelings and ways of reacting. After some time, I found my head gradually clearing and my outlook changed. So hang in there and do more than avoid drinking - actively work on your recovery and I think you'll gradually notice changes.
SL, of course you are welcome here!
Chris, sober twin, you sound great :-)
Drake, glad you are feeling a bit better.
Have a lovely day, Undies!

Thanks Sas!! I know very well not to let my guard down. I relapsed in mid-2014 when I got "too confident". The AV likes to hibernate and then sneak up on us when we least expect it. Got to enjoy the sober life and all its benefits, but always stay on guard ! Just like driving a car on cruise control gets easier, but we must still watch the road and all of the obstacles that can pop up at any time.
Love and hugs, Chris

Hey folks... Thank you for the care and responses. I went this morning to help an elder in my church with her computer. It was good to just sit next to her and be interested in her life, out of my own head. She lost her youngest daughter six years ago to cancer and has seven grandkids who are without their mom now. It was good to realign my perspective. Also reminded me to tell my mom I love her.
There's nothing on my agenda this week in terms of work so I decided to give myself room to do meetings, my reading and step work rather than try to fit a square peg in a circle hole. I am sure through that work I will get right sized. I just need to keep showing up and being useful in my recovery.
I came to a meeting and heard my sponsor's voice saying, "Suit up, show up, be useful" from an earlier phone call still ringing in my head. Grabbed a rag and wiped down the tables after. Pissed off the guy who's service position it was. Oops.
Oh well... Principles before personalities.
This phone app makes it hard to see everyone's comments when I am replying so will do some direct replies from my computer later.
Thanks again for welcoming me and for the support.

hi Undies and Happy New Year!! I'm 3 weeks sober today and I'm very proud. I was in a bad spot for a long time and finally have turned it around. I don't know if I told you that it was the worse with drawl I have ever had. Just glad to back.
