freein, I'm quite impressed with your productivity. Things seem to be going well lately. People are funny about cleaning ladies. My mom has one come in for a few hours once a week, but she doesn't like the way other people clean, so my mom ends up cleaning up in anticipation of the cleaning lady and the cleaning lady ends up like dusting a shelf, haha. But people should get rid of clutter in old age! Interesting insight about the chatter. I would agree with that. Let us know more when you get further into the book.
Mariah, it's good to be honest with yourself about your actions. It's amazing that you have 80 days without drink and I would keep that in mind as you continue today onto day 2
. I too find myself looking for something to go to when I'm feeling agitated. It's tempting to pick up new bad habits. It takes a lot of courage to be honest with yourself.
Thanks all. I think I didn't realize how hard it was to be around that kind of drinking even though I didn't really feel that tempted while I was at the party. Just being in that atmosphere brought on some anxiety. I had a weird Saturday, felt kind of crazy, but went to an AA gathering and took action to get out of my own head and I'm feeling a bit better. I will say that having my boyfriend on board with me at two weeks sober as well is making this much easier. I hope that we can keep working together because things have been much nicer lately

That's great to hear Rocks, I'm so glad to hear your boyfriend is also on board, that definitely makes it easier.

ST, when do you move in to your new apartment?
My dresser refurb project is coming on. We're now on the painting stage. It's going to look great. We decided to leave the top as natural wood, and the rest will be painted cream to match the kitchen.
Hopefully there will be time on Wednesday to finish it, and I'll try to post some pictures (I might be being a bit optimistic about that).

Miss those of you who have not been posting & thinking of you all.
Was a crazy day at work....the first week to 10 days of the months are always very busy. I requested more hours to be able to get the work done that is needed...said they may consider 30 minutes more a day, but as with most places, they want more work done in less time...works well for them. I started the day with some meditation & prayer...back to basics for me. Off to the gym tonight.

Sorry I haven't been here for a few days. I've been working really hard and into the early morning hours almost every night, and have been pretty much exclusively focused on that. I've barely left my house, and I don't think I've brushed my hair in a few days...
I have gotten a lot done, though.
I hope you all are doing well, and Mariah, please don't beat yourself up about the weed, just be kind to yourself and move forward from here.

I'm trying to increase my awareness of the chatter in my head. It's amazing what thoughts crop up, and how repetitive and useless they generally are. When I'm meditating I can easily see my mind working, but the rest of the time it's in overdrive without me even being aware of it. I think enlightenment may take me some time!

It's been a good day at work today, I'm frighteningly up to date. I keep thinking Ive forgotten something crucial, because being up to date only happens in fairy tales doesn't it?
Perhaps I'll wake up soon, but for now I'm living the dream!
