Looks like things have quieted down on the limericks...

Time for a progressive limerick...

I will start...pick up and go as for as you want...

There is nothing quite like this thread
to unclog this cluttered up head

..................who's next?

There once was a MesaMan, dense
He drank, but now in the past tense
Once he'd seen the way
Not drunk, he could stay
Straight Sober, and not on the Fence

It's quite therapeutic

And it keeps me from seeing RED
Then wake up with nothing to dread

Complete and utter desperation
Led me to the light of this recovery nation

We've all come so far
Together on SR...

I really love the SR army.
They steer me away and don't harm me!

My rhyming is useless
My satire is toothless

The weather is chilly
I guess I'll make chili........oh my GAWD, what's happened to me?

my old girl at home came and sat on my face
though her diaper was wet i handled it with grace
i gave her a hug
gave her diaper a tug
she's a piece of work but will be impossible to replace

in case you're all wondering my old girl is a dog
she can no longer walk well but it's not like i jog
though she pisses herself
she's a spry little elf
when she's not too lost in a tramadol fog

when i went to chile i ate salmon stew
if you go to the lake district you should too
it's yummy and healthy
you don't have to be wealthy
get the kind made with broth not with cream or roux

i'm lame and i'm sick and i'm holding back panic
if not for the meds i would be freakin' manic
i can't find the patience
or a clear sense of presence
i waited too long to become a health fanatic

There once was a Gal SnoozyQ
Her Birthday had nary a Brew
Though Sober Down Under
No Booze she would plunder
Or stray from her Course ever true

The Chili from Chile is the best, shall we say
Top it off with Fritos and it sure makes your day.
Your mind will tell you to put down the spoon
Your heart says, "I'm staying, not leaving this room!"
Pretty quick your waistline begins to expand
"It's bad", say the food police," it's gotten out of hand!"
You pick up some apples and a grape bunch or two
Wishing the chili was close so could keep dipping a few.
Just trying to enjoy apples and grapes when you knew
Need some new friends, no food patrol, to keep you in line
Find those new friends who enjoy chili just any old time.
Soon the chili's served poolside at brunch and dinner
And no one to call you a chubby food sinner!
