I'm still struggling folks, but I will not drink. It would be madness.
I'm just not sure what I need to do to get out of this. I met a friend in the City yesterday, I don't know her very well. She could tell I was "off", and when she asked how I was, I just broke down. I can't seem to stop crying.
I feel very selfish. I wrote to my sister who began a new job last week. She had written to me to say she felt very unhappy in her marriage, and that while on holiday in France, she'd drunk increasingly heavily and had a meltdown with her husband. I can't cut off my family, and I want to be of help to her, or others. Perhaps I need to look at volunteering again. Croissant, have you begun your volunteering yet? You are great to do this.

I think I need to be on an anti-depressant. I will call my psych on Monday to see if I can get an appt earlier than the month ahead which had been arranged.

Hahah better madder than a cut snake than a meat axe Dee !

But having said that , you defined us quite accurately LOLOLOLOL

Mad as a cut snake
Insane, disturbed, strange in the head
"He slept with the stripper and invited her to the wedding the next day. When he got there he drank all the cider, staggered up the aisle, then paused to light a cigarette during his vows. That cat is as mad as a cut snake"

Glad you are at least open to an anti doe resistant now, Leshar. I think you've tried a few, from memory....so I hope they can find a balance for you.

I've used them briefly twice, and it's funny....one that worked for me previously, was no good a few years later. So Maybe it's possible the reverse could be true? Ones that didn't help previously, could now? I guess you know better than me!

That's psych....is that the one you feel isn't listening? Would you change?

I have to get another job, Leshar, so the volunteering will have to go on hold as it's not anything to do with my work skills and not a cause you'd commit to and pull out. As I need travel fares to get there, I need to conserve my money til the job thing is sorted.

Leshar, I agree with Snoozy & Croissant - I think trying an antidepressant is the way to go. I don't have much experience with them, but I know a lot of people who have really benefited from them. I really hope your Dr can help because it saddens me that you are doing everything right (not drinking, getting out and involved, etc) and still struggling You'll get there - your time is coming
