Well done on 1week Rochele!, yeah got an ANOTHER assessment on June 17th so il bring it up again then- it seems a slow process though so that's why Im throwing myself into the AA program and early days but things seem different now Im putting 100% into it, think in the past Ive had one foot in and one foot out and that's led for a fall. Got my daughters tomorrow so Im looking forward to that.

Day 16 here and pretty exhausted. Was up at 5am and working today so am pooped. Had a little thought or two about my wine 'reward' for getting through the days work but brushed it off fairly easy. Had a massive burrito instead :-) not quite a healthy choice but a damn sight better than alcohol. Looking forward to another early start tomorrow going to go swimming with my daughter and do a bit of baking. I LOVE SOBER WEEKENDS! Hope everyone is hanging in there!

Found an AA meeting that meets tonight at 7. YES I would like moral support to go! It's SO. HARD. to get my butt into a seat but it needs to happen. Having people know I'm an alcoholic is such a scary thought. Things have not fallen apart in an exterior, obvious fashion yet, although I can see where it's going... probably better people figure out that I'm a sober alkie rather than an active one. Of course that means then I have more accountability. That's worrying.

Good luck with the meeting NotToSmart, its scary at first but there is a sense of belonging once you're there. That's the point Ive got to if I think my 'problem' has gone unnoticed Im kidding myself, like you say its better to be a in recovery than actively drunk. Let us know how you get on.

Anxiety how I despise thee. Went to a new meeting tonight, panic attack set in half way through...wanted to leave but stuck it out and silently prayed for God to help me through. Crazy social anxiety in new situations. Had a pretty good day for the most part and just needed a meeting to keep me grounded. Honestly was not a good fit for me... person leading was a litlle over bearing and immediately had me signe upnto do coffee... I am not there yet... guess it triggered something. Anyway, vent over- hope all are sober and hanging in tonight.

so inspired from the people i met.
at the end i got numbers from 4 people and they showed such an interest in me.
going to find another meeting for tomoro.
they said to keep coming.
so happy i went
Thanks D for the link for AA newcomers.

My addiction took a worrying change in the last few months... I was only drinking once in a while, like every few weeks, but in between, my partner has medical problems that have him taking Vicodin and a benzo, and I started dipping into it. This is really difficult to "talk" about even here. I had never really thought about taking them before, they don't even do that much for me- alcohol has always been my drug of choice. But they are *something* and they can't be smelled on your breath.

I had a headache today, plus am overall anxious, and my mind immediately jumped to pills. Yikes. I stuck to ibuprofen, which has cured the headache, but I still have this burning anxiety rock in my diaphragm. I just ******* hate this.
